Obama: Celebrate Mother’s Day With Socialism

As you know, liberals hate all holidays and use them as excuses to push their bitter leftist agendas. Obama, King of the Liberals, has taken the tradition of ruing holidays to extreme new depths. Rather than celebrating Mother’s Day with some mom-appreciation, the president would like us all to flip out on the Republicans in Congress for not being as socialist as Obama would like them to be.
In his Weekly Address, Obama used the occasion of Mother’s Day to ram his socialist platform down America’s throat:
Giving flowers is always a good idea. But I hope that on this Mother’s Day, we’ll recommit ourselves to doing more than that: Through deeds that match our words, let’s give mothers the respect they deserve, give all women the equality they deserve, and give all parents the support they need in their most important roles.
You already know this is going to be bad because Obama is going with the liberal fool notion that women are somehow not equal in American society. So how exactly can we give women the equality they already have, you ask. Well, like this:
That includes paid maternity and paternity leave, sick leave, accommodations for workers who are pregnant, good health care, affordable child care, flexibility at work, equal pay, and a decent minimum wage. We ask our mothers to do more than their fair share of just about everything. Making sure they’re treated fairly is the least we can do.
Yup. According to our president, the way to make women equal is through a series of tax-raising, anti-business, job-killing government mandates and giveaways. I guess women in socialist countries are somehow more equal than the ones in our mighty free-market democracy.
Predictably, the reason Obama says women suffer from inequality in the US is because of those bastard Republicans who are in charge of Congress:
The idea of setting aside a Sunday in May for our mothers became an official holiday with a Congressional resolution a little more than 100 years ago. They did it on May 8 – the same day we’ll celebrate Mother’s Day this year. If Congress can make a holiday, surely they can back it up with the things that give it meaning.
That is some awesome liberal logic there. Establishing a holiday on a Sunday takes no effort and costs nothing. The things Obama wants would drive thousands of companies out of business, kill millions of jobs, and raise the price of nearly everything. Saying these two are the same thing is beyond insanity.
Now get ready for the funniest thing you’ve heard from Obama in quite a while:
After all, that’s what my mother taught me. I couldn’t just say I was going to do the right thing, or say I agreed with it on principle. I had to actually do it.
Since when has Obama ever done the right thing? And for that matter, since when has he ever done something that he said he was going to do? The only thing you can really count on with Obama is that he is full of shit.
There you have it folks. The President of the United States wants you to celebrate Mother’s Day raging against a Republican Congress for not enacting socialist programs that would tank our economy. I think I’ll stick with flowers and chocolate and spend my efforts counting down the days until this lefty scumbag is out of office for good. From Mother’s Day we only have to endure 256 more days of Obama’s reign of terror.
