A lot of folks I have read and admired for years on that list.   There will be more.

My favorite conservative commentator for many years has been Peggy Noonan, and I await her column each weekend with trepidation that she will drink the Kool-Aid.  I'm afraid she's inching closer - don't do it, Peggy!!!

I guess a good working definition of "establishment" GOP is those will bend over for Trump.   It remains to be seen how many - and the response of such folks as Bush, Cruz, Rubio and Kasich will help guide me as to whether to quit the party.

I like the list of Trump supporters better. Paraphrasing Ronald Reagan, 'The party and support can't grow through subtraction'. Will the Republican party ever learn?

I held my nose and voted for Gerald Ford.
I held my nose and voted for Bob Dole.
I held my nose and voted for John McCain.
I held my nose and voted for Mitt Romney.

For Donald Trump, I will have to hold my nose with both hands.

And so, I won't be able to vote.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Maybe it's better to tear the party down now that it can't really grow any further, and replace it with something new that can.

I may note that there is a certain caucus that actually promoted Trump's candidacy specifically to tear down the Republican Party. Well, they're about to get their wish.

An exclusive party can't grow. No one will ever get 70 or 80 million voters to agree 100% on everything. Perot, Paul and now Cruz. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!

I see you like to repeat that quote a lot. Here's another quote from Pres. Reagan:

"I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, 'We must broaden the base of our party'- when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents."

Here's another one:

"There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right."
Let it burn.

What utter nonsense. The anti-Trump hysteria on here may fill some deep psychological need of its proponents but it only serves to make them look silly at best, irrational at worst.

Yes, I like to use that quote because it is so obvious and true. Being a tight exclusive party in a country as diverse as the US has become will leave us virtually powerless and voiceless in the political arena.

We already have the base. What we need now are branches and leaves.

What is morally right about allowing a sexual predator enabler and Benghazi enabler to become POTUS?

America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign. -Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Spectacular.

Now who is the Libertarian candidate. Because if the republicans can nominate Scam Wow... they have left me. Our third of the republican party... if it voted for the 'Bert, could throw this election to the House.... I would take the Libertarian hands down over the Trump/Hillary ticket.

The GOP allowing open primaries has been their death wish. Look at past candidates. Unless and until they close GOP primaries to party members, they will never have a successful conservative candidate.

As for Cruz, I hope he gets on the Supreme Court or run as a Conservation Party candidate, forcing the hand of GOPers in the House, when no one gets 270 Electoral college votes. Then they will have to choose between Trump or Cruz.
