Conservative columnist and author Charles Krauthammer may have been the biggest anti-Trump person at all of Fox News. Now, in a stunning reversal, he’s saying that it’s “hard to see” how the billionaire real estate mogul doesn’t get the nomination.

Krauthammer made the remarks on Friday’s “Special Report,” saying that he believed Trump’s massive victory in New York meant he was unstoppable going into the homestretch.

“The New York result — 61 percent for Trump — was so overwhelming that I think it had a psychological effect, where if nobody stops Trump in any of these states, notably Indiana or somewhere on the West Coast, it’s going to be hard to see how he’s denied the nomination,” Krauthammer said.

Trump’s best hope, Krauthammer said, was for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to turn Indiana into a “new Wisconsin.” In the Badger State, in spite of a Trump attempt to make up ground, Cruz won a decisive victory, sweeping nearly all of the delegates

However, the pundit said that the California primary on June 7 is “where everything is going to hinge,” adding that, “we also have numbers on that, and they are devastating for Cruz.”

And, even if Cruz were able to pull off Indiana and California, he still said that there was an “easy solution” for Trump: pick Ohio Gov. John Kasich as his running mate.

“I don’t know whether he would take it or not, I assume he would,” Krauthammer said. “It’ll be 150 delegates, he’s over the top, it’s over. So I think that’s where you have to look.”

Krauthammer has been one of the most consistent Trump-haters at Fox News, a network not known for a paucity of people who fit that description. The fact that he seems willing to cede the nomination to Trump is huge news for his campaign — and for the people at Fox News. If Krauthammer is willing to say it, it may be time for the rest of the network to realize that Trump is not only for real, but that he’s almost certainly going to be the nominee.

We shall see. As the old saying goes that's why the play the game. Considering its still up in the air this far down the road, it’s hardly a massacre. Dr. Krauthammer has a point, but a Trump/Kasich ticket wouldn't shore up the base that think Trump is a liberal or help convert any of the Never Trump folks.

There is nothing "shocking" in this story.     

There never is, but that's the standard way to write headlines now a days. Instead of the headline containing some sort of vital information to help the reader decide the relevance of the article, the goal now is to generate clicks on the headline. The easiest way is to try and awake curiosity in the reader.
