Ted Cruz names Carly Fiorina as VP pick

CNN) — Ted Cruz formally named Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential running mate Wednesday -- a last-ditch move to regain momentum after being mathematically eliminated from winning the GOP presidential nomination outright.

"After a great deal of consideration and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that if I am nominated to be president of the United States that I will run on a ticket with my vice presidential nominee Carly Fiorina," Cruz said during a rally in Indianapolis.

Fiorina joined the Texas senator on stage, and Cruz's staff changed the podium in between Cruz and Fiorina's remarks to display a new logo featuring both their names.

"Ted could not be more right in what he said: There is a lot at stake, and in fact, this is a fight, this is a fight for the soul of our party and the future of our nation," Fiorina said. "I've had tough fights all my life. Tough fights don't worry me a bit."

No more speculation - Firorina is the VP pick for Cruz. And I love it!

I had my doubts about Carly as his choice, but after listening to both of their speeches they are very well matched and I am confident that they can defeat Hillary!!   :patriot:

She is a good choice.  I think that she would really go after Hillary and I would love every minute of it.  She would put a wrench into the works for Hillary playing the women card.  If Trump somehow wins the nomination he may wish that he had done what ever it took to get Carly to agree to run as his VP. I think that she carries the conservative credentials and isn't seen as being from inside the beltway.

And Bernie could pick Warren, even if it meant two women on the ticket, maybe HRC could pick her as well, I don't know. I heard this discussed some earlier. Warren would probably attract Sanders supporters.

I like Carly as VP as well. She is very sharp and articulate. At first I thought the pick was a bit premature but I sure do understand the timing with the non-stop Trump coverage about his expected win last night.

Hillary has mentioned that she will more than likely pick a female VP and Warren would be the natural pick and yes, she would attract the Sanders supporters.  It would be a very strong ticket, but I'm not so sure Warren would accept ... she has stated in the past that she wasn't interested.  Regardless, I think Cruz and Fiorina would defeat them.  I have no doubt.  As for Bernie ... unless Hillary is indicted and forced to step down, he's done.
