This Governor Announces A “Convention Of The States” To STOP OBAMA! – Breaking News

Conservative Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has been taking the Obama White House to court over it’s unconstitutional granting of amnesty to illegal aliens.

But now, he’s so tired of Obama’s disregard for the Constitution, he’s ready to organize a “convention of the states” to control the size of the Federal government!

As described in Article V of the Constitution, states can promise new amendments to the Constitution. Abbott’s plan to return power to the state’s is referred to as The Texas Plan. This is extraordinary!

Governor Abbott offered the following constitutional amendments:

Prohibit Congress from regulating activity that occurs wholly within one State.
Require Congress to balance its budget.
Prohibit administrative agencies—and the unelected bureaucrats that staff them—from creating federal law.
Prohibit administrative agencies—and the unelected bureaucrats that staff them—from preempting state law.
Allow a two-thirds majority of the States to override a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Require a seven-justice super-majority vote for U.S. Supreme Court decisions that invalidate a democratically enacted law.
Restore the balance of power between the federal and state governments by limiting the former to the powers expressly delegated to it in the Constitution.
Give state officials the power to sue in federal court when federal officials overstep their bounds.
Allow a two-thirds majority of the States to override a federal law or regulation.

As Governor Abbott opined, “The United States Supreme Court is a co-conspirator in tearing down our Constitution, which is exactly why I am calling for a Convention of States so we can restore the Constitution to its original principles.” These rules would help balance the budget, scaling back the power of Congress on state issues, and to stop unelected judges on the Supreme Court from making sweeping changes to the hottest political issues such as abortion and gay marriage.

Because Obama has abused his authority and shredded the Constitution like a tyrant, it’s time to fight back! Gov. Abbott believes only a convention of states would make the Congress take the Constitution seriously again.

Five states have called for a convention, but Abbott’s campaign will only make the movement more popular. This is great news, and long overdue.

While I fully support the premise behind this and am all for restoration, I see that this could potentially backfire and not without risk.  However, this is really looking like one of the few options we have left.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
