The Ted Cruz – John Kasich alliance announced with great fanfare on Sunday quickly broke down when a Cruz insider leaked a confidential memo telling Cruzbots to ignore the warning not to vote for Cruz in the Oregon primary to be held on May 17 and the New Mexico primary held on the last day of the primary season, June 7th.
Cruz & Kasich announced that Kasich would stop spending money in Indiana if Cruz would stop spending money in Oregon and New Mexico in a hopeless attempt to stop the Donald.
But, in a letter addressed specifically to freshman Congressman Mike Nearman of Oregon, Cruz justified his double-cross of Kasich thusly:
[insert letter]
“… sometimes in order to win the end game, we must be the better strategic players….”
“… in Oregon and New Mexico, please continue voting for a Ted Cruz win in those states. Do not select John Kasich as has been reported since Sunday evening.”
“Please be cautious and only forward this email to our known Ted Cruz supporters via email.”
Typically inepTed. If he had any common sense, he would have at least waited until he had gotten his side of the bargain before he tipped off anyone – even Congressmen – of his real intentions.
I wonder, 4 years from now, will I have to consult Winkipedia to remember this guy’s name?
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good Day.

"What Do We Do Now?" - Anti-Trump Alliance Self-Destructs Within Hours

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-04-25/what-do-we-do-now-anti-trump-alliance-self-destructs-within-hours

Before the ink on the "anti-Trump alliance deal" even dry, Kasich suggested during a campaign stop in Philadelphia that his voters should still vote for him in Indiana, which was one of the places the so-called plan was calling for him to fall back on so Cruz had a chance to win. At a campaign stop in Philadelphia, Kasich said "I've never told them not to vote for me. They ought to vote for me." which no matter how one looks at it is thoroughly confusing considering this is precisely what the so-called alliance urged agains

Just "ethical" Ted being his old "ethical" self, as always. 100% unsurprising that he would backstab his new-found ally.

I've never seen a young politician torpedo his own future in national politics like Cruz has this primary season.  From being an "outsider" to becoming the preferred GOPe candidate in a matter of a month, and his supporters blindly and uncritically follow along while mocking Trump supporters at every turn for blindly following Trump.

Wile E. Cruz-yote is done, now and forever, as a serious candidate for president.  The age of the internet makes playing the delegate buying game much different in its perception than it was in 1976 or any other year.  Information travels at light speed, and the ugliness and pettiness of the process is in full view rather than decided in smoky back room deals.  That's what I don't get about these "rules are rules!!" posters.  Well yeah, but if you're as unpopular a candidate as Cruz, it is seen as stealing delegates that other candidates are earning at the ballot box.

Seems that Cruz is reporting much the same thing about Kasich.

Just a note for context, the claim is made by Bill Still who is about on the level of Alex Jones but fewer people take him seriously.

In one thread it says that cruz is "colluding". On this thread it says that Cruz is "backstabbing".

Cruz is doing neither.

He simply made a public perfectly legal agreement with Katich about where they will be spending money campaigning. And I see no evidence that in private Cruz is going against the agreement.

Exactly.  Cruz is now being bombarded from all angles; Trump/Kasich/Clinton/RNC/GOPe/MSM, etc.  They are utilizing their billions against his millions.  It is quite amazing that Cruz has managed to navigate around all of them.

What we are seeing from the Trumpsters, and it begins happening a couple of days before a caucus or primary election, is them teaming up to post every ridiculous claim imaginable against the other candidates, or beating their chest about this poll or that poll.

Both the Cruz and Kasich campaigns acknowledged this arrangement.

How is it a ridiculous claim?  A ridiculous claim is equating Trump to Hitler.  Reality is that Cruz and Kasich cut a deal, which their campaigns verified, yet neither candidate has the integrity to stick to the deal even for one day.   :silly:

You don't think that the so-called "outsider" Donald Trump would cut a deal with Kasich if he had to?

Cruz is an outsider.

Not sure what the link was for Bill Still's completely biased "news" article. Is that a pseudonym, or just coincidental that he writes like he's all too familiar with a still?

Cruz is an outsider.

Outside what?  The GOPe effectively gave him all 34 delegates in CO.  There is even a thread about it.

For some reason the Cruz supporters forgot all about this one.    :silly:

Sure, that's right. The GOPe just handed Ted Cruz 34 delegates.

Never mind the 60K registered grassroots Republicans who turned up at the 2995 local precinct caucuses, to vote for and to even run as delegates for the counties and state conventions.

Edit/Add: Meanwhile Trump was a no-show.

Mr. Cruz' main problem is that he forgot about patience and tried to reach for the gold ring too soon. He ran too early, and brashly compromised the principles for which he had previously been held in esteem among many of those who are now supporting someone else.

He'll still have a safe seat as the Senator from Texas, of course.

Different subject:
The "alliance" between Cruz and Kasich seems to have gone the way as that one some years' ago between a German dictator and a Russian one. In a significantly shorter span of time, to boot!
