Poll: 70 percent of married women oppose Trump

Nearly three-quarters of married women have a negative view of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, a new poll shows.

According to the latest Bloomberg Politics/Purple Strategies survey of women voters, 70 percent of married women who plan to vote in November are dissatisfied with the controversial candidate.

Just under 60 percent of women voters believe the billionaire's comments about women are "offensive and embarrassing" and disqualify him from being a serious candidate. Another 58 percent of women said the billionaire is "setting a new low in his campaign's negativity" that has discouraged them from "politics and voting."

"The way Trump looks among married women puts Republicans in a deficit in a key group that they won before," Purple Strategies pollster Doug Usher told Bloomberg News. "Trump cannot win unless these numbers change."

But the survey also shows that the dislike for Trump among married women largely reflects their party affiliation. Among married Republican women, 52 percent said they have a positive impression of Trump. That's just a bit lower than Ted Cruz's 57 percent positive rating, and John Kasich's 55 percent.

The survey comes two weeks after Trump suggested that women who receive abortions should be subject to "some form of punishment." The comment attracted outrage from pro-life and pro-choice women.

In the same poll, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Kasich had the highest favorability ratings among married women likely to vote in the general election.

The Bloomberg Politics/Purple Strategies survey of 603 women voters likely to vote in the general election and 513 Republican primary voters was conducted April 5-10. Results contain a margin of error plus or minus 4 percent.

Republicans cannot win the presidency without a majority of married women in their corner.

But don't worry, he'll win in a landslide, he'll take all 57 states; the STrumpets have assured us of that.

Why vote for a serial cheater? You sorta condone your own husband to do the same if you vote for this guy.

Typical women. Not into loyalty pledges and knuckle sandwiches. Don't they get it? Donny is going to cut deals man.

Just another reason to take their vote away again.

The other day I had the TV on mute and was listening to XM Radio. There was a clip of some event showed Trump sitting with a bunch of people around him. At the same time, my wife walked into the room as Aqualung started playing on XM.  She paused for a second and looked at the TV.  Then she started to walk away.  AFter a few steps she stopped and turned... and with a straight face said: "Perfect Campaing song for Him"

The majority of married women have always voted for the Republican candidate because overall, we want stability, morality and conservative values.

That all changes if Trump is the nominee because he hasn't got a single characteristic that represents our values.

I'm actually surprised that the percentage is that low.  I would think it should be near 100%..........
Character still matters.  It always matters.

Count me in as one of the 70%!
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Perhaps Trump’s greatest gift, as a steaming misogynist, is that he is basically always the drunk guy in the bar slurring “nice tits.” Serious women don’t take him seriously, and everyone else just thinks he’s deranged. Worse, he is the unrepentant drunk in the bar; he’s not sorry for calling women pigs or gold-diggers. Unlike the Romneys or the Mourdocks, he doesn’t let himself get “bullied” by politically correct women. He just sends them mail telling them they’re ugly.

Part of what Trump is cashing in on is your standard umbrage fatigue. The year of the woman in 2012 was totally bracing for a blowback. Michelle Letner, who donated $225 to Trump, told MSNBC’s Frumin, “I like that he’s not politically correct. … He’s saying it like it is. If you want to be treated like a lady, act like a lady.” Or, as Amanda Marcotte explains here, trashing women and defending that as a refreshing tonic to political correctness is a way of life in some conservative circles.

Single anecdotes do not evidence make.  It's very nice that she contributed to him, but she's still in a distinct minority.

Wishful thinking.
