Minimum Wage Hike Could Cost Small Business Owners Their 'American Dream’

Gigi Warshawsky and her husband bought what she calls "Our American Dream", just a few years ago.
“We bought into it with our savings, with our retirement to buy into this deli and raising minimum wage might put us out of business,” Gigi Warshawsky tells KMAX-TV.
California recently passed a new minimum wage hike to $15 an hour.
“It’s going to be devastating. We’re a mom and pop. They’re aren’t many mom and pops around. We are surrounded by franchises. We are surrounded by box stores,” she said.
KMAX reports, that last year they had 13 employees, now they’re down to 10 and may have to make more cuts.
