Obama Says Madmen Must Not Get Their Hands on Nuclear Bomb; So What Does That Make Iran?

By Aaron Goldstein on 4.1.16 | 11:16PM

At the Nuclear Security Summit in DC today, President Obama said this with regard to ISIS:

ISIL has already used chemical weapons — there is no doubt if these madmen ever got their hands on a bomb or nuclear material they would use it to kill as many as possible.

While Obama is certainly correct in this assessment of ISIS, but what does that make Iran?

Surely, a regime whose raison d'etre is "Death to America!!!" cannot be viewed as rational. Of course, the Obama White House has publicly stated that such language is intended for a "domestic political audience" as if the Iranian people had the choice of removing its Islamist regime and as if the Iranian regime didn't mean what it was saying. I think the murder of U.S. Marines in Beirut, the attacks on Americans at Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia and attacks on American soldiers in Iraq prove otherwise. Let's not forget the Iranian regime has had no hesitation to test missiles, launch missiles near our aircraft carriers and take our Navy sailors hostage and parade them on Iranian state TV.

So what makes Obama think that if Iran got its hands on nuclear material that they wouldn't use it to kill as many people as possible? His personal charm or that of John Kerry? Unlike ISIS, if Iran does use a nuclear bomb it will be because the Obama Administration gave them the resources to do so. Indeed, it appears that the Obama Administration will soon permit U.S. banks and foreign governments to conduct financial transactions with Iran in U.S. currency.

Under the circumstances, President Obama is the last man who should be lecturing the world about madmen getting their hands on a nuclear bomb.
