http://conservativetribune.com/britain-border-fight-migrants/In the wake of the horrific terrorist bombing attacks in Brussels, British Home Secretary Theresa May announced on Wednesday that the U.K. would be toughening up its border security to deal with the potential threat posed by radicalized Muslim migrants.
That announcement was exposed as mere wishful thinking and empty rhetoric just hours later though, as a truck packed with 26 illegal stowaway migrants was stopped by Kent Police, marking the second such incident this week. A a truck containing 25 stowaways had been stopped on Monday, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
All of the apprehended migrants claimed asylum, and virtually all of them were fast-tracked through the system and granted their freedom within a mere day or two.
This stood in stark contrast with the typical six-month wait most asylum applicants must face, and was even more damning when viewed in light of the fact that the Home Office has admitted to losing track of at least 10,000 asylum seekers already in the country.
The excuse given for not tracking those individuals down was that it would be a “drain on resources,” but making matters worse was a recent report from the independent chief inspector of borders and immigration, David Bolt, who revealed that at least 30,000 asylum seekers who had been denied were still in the U.K.
