Brian Stelter
‏@brianstelter Brian Stelter Retweeted Corey Lewandowski

Trump's campaign manager is sharing a hoax news story — a site pretending to be ABC News — designed to trick people

Brian Stelter is the host of CNN's "Reliable Sources"

Here is Lewandowski's Tweet:

The website is a phony website, not ABC's, and the story is a complete fabrication.

Looks like Cory pulled it but it was on Brian's page. Ann Coulter had also retweeted it from Cory's account.

Well, it is still on Brian's account, and he did retweet it from Corey's official account and a lot of people commented on it before Corey deleted it. Apparently Ann Coulter also retweeted it from Corey's official account too.

Re tweeting what was posted? How can we be assured the accounts weren't hacked? I take all of this with a grain of salt.

Always a possibility. But it seems if it was a hack, they could have done a lot more damage than a 'fake but plausible' story, especially as, right around the same time Corey was posting many other, business as usual tweets for the campaign.

Someone hacking could have gone nuts on the account.

Then it wouldn't look as believable, would it?

True, but it also isn't really damaging, more like an 'oops' so what would be the point of a hack?

LOL, I thought you were kidding, but it is the #2 trending topic. Apparently the National Enquirer thing is starting to backfire.

No such thing as an 'oops' . Whether true or not, the damage has been done. If dirty tricks didn't work, no one would bother.

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

And that makes it acceptable? Like I stated, right out of the liberal playbook.

Twitter is like the sea. Vast, with currents both visible and deep.

And, just like the sea, sewage always floats to the top.

To go back to the original - it's not unlikely the OP got fooled. It's happened here before, to my certain knowledge - an abcnews.com.co story posted as fact.
