Inside Cruz's bid to conquer Rubioworld

Cruz's team is making a full-court press for former Rubio donors and supporters.

While Marco Rubio was flailing in Florida, Ted Cruz’s team was lying in wait, preparing to move state by state, donor by donor to capture Rubio’s supporters after his fall. And with Rubio out, that effort is now in full swing.

Even before Rubio formally exited the race, Cruz’s team was communicating with donors and other prominent Rubio supporters — Cruz senior foreign policy adviser Victoria Coates, for example, was checking in with people like prominent Bush administration figure and Rubio backer Elliott Abrams.

When Rubio did drop, the Texan’s team sprang into action across the country.

I think that he will be successful in most cases.  Essentially no other options.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

If Cruz does get all of Rubio's support (which he should), and hopefully Kasich drops out, Cruz should be able to topple Trump.

It's a best case scenario, granted, but it's the hope that's keeping me alive.......

I don't know why all the media is painting Cruz chance as bleak.  I think that people can and are motivated by the way the media reports.  It isn't fair.  People will actually vote according to what they believe the chances of the candidate is.  So why is the media doing this when Cruz has an awesome chance to turn this all around following Rubio dropping out?  I am a person that like Rubio but wasn't sure that he could follow the rule of law on immigration.  I am sure that there were many voters who would easily support Cruz now.  And it isn't that Cruz has been a zero.  He really isn't that far behind Trump.  The GOP need to get behind the only viable candidate Cruz.  We can take this election with ease.

We can, and we should.  But the Trump card is screwing us all up.  People aren't thinking, they're feeling and reacting, and that's no way to choose a President.

If Cruz gets the nomination, we get the White House.  It HAS to happen.

Is Politico really that flummoxed by the notion that one of the surviving candidates would hope to pick up the former supporters of a departed candidate?

If Cruz had Rubio's numbers to add to early on, he would have won several more states right now.

Rubio dropping out is perfect timing for Cruz as we move into the WTA states in this last stretch. Trump needs to win 57% of the delegates from here to pull it off, a number he hasn't even approached yet. Even a couple of WTA losses will deny him the nomination.
The Republic is lost.
