I don't do internet or email on my phone, just because it'd be notifying me of all sorts of stuff if I did, and I run odd hours so I'd never get any sleep. I know I could turn that noise off, but it might be something important. Pretty limited use outside of family and work. The 'puter gets worked like a rented mule, I have worn the letters off of three keys on this laptop already. I will likely give Ubloc Origin a try, thanks.

WRT phone, try DoNotDisturb, normally a button in the pulldown on an android... It can be set up to shut off all notifications except the ones you want. When DnD is on in my phone, only three people can make it ring or send a message - ALL else is off.
As to the keyboard, check to make sure it is replaceable - Some are not, some are glued and a PIA - But if it is standard, you are 15 bucks and 5 minutes away from a nice new KB. I go through 3-4 a year if I keep the box that long...
