Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Screwing around on political sites all over the internet.
Seeing more and more talk about Ukraine taking Moscow.
Who knows? Maybe, I guess?
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

They would be wise to not repeat the mistakes of Napoleon and Hitler. Push back to the previous borders (retake Crimea) and stop.

Entering Baltimore from the South...the Baltimore/Washington Parkway becomes Russel Avenue
and you're immediately surrounded by the Horseshow gambling casino and parking, then after a
short bridge, the M&T Ravens Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yard are in succession on the right.

A left turn opposite Orioles Park is Martin Luther King Avenue.

Not two blocks in, you begin to see the complex 'homes' made from multiple parts of tents...some quite impressive.

Began to wonder how often they practice the "CASTLE DOCTRINE" in defending it.  Do they ever even leave it unattended for a minute?

@240B

Not ONE freaking chance in a billion of that happening.

While it is true the majority of the Russian subjects are tired of Communism and want to see it destroyed so they can live as free people,that does NOT mean they want,or will accept rule from non-Russians.

The INSTANT that ANY foreign army crosses the border into Russia,they will find out.

Russians have been hearing about them being "citizens of the world" for the entire lives of every Russian living today,but what they really want is to be is "citizens of Russia".

Not serfs,not members of some collective by another name,but free citizens with the right to live their own lives as they see fit,including live where they want to live,working where they want to work,and traveling where they want to travel without having to ask permission.

This includes INSIDE Russia as well as to other nations.

Yeah,the typical Russian takes loyalty to "Holy Mother Russia" pretty damn seriously,but that doesn't mean they want to be slaves to their "Mother Nation".

They all had a brief taste of living as free people in a free nation right after the collapse of the USSR and BEFORE the rise of "Putin the First",and they want to go back to living free.

Which means NOT being ruled by ANYBODY. Not even their fellow Russians.

@Smokin Joe

Exactly!

Do NOT make the mistake of confusing their hatred of being communist slaves with hatred of "Holy Mother Russia". History has proven what happens to invaders that make that mistake more than once.

@Slide Rule

Serious question.

Where the HELL are these bums going to go come November?

I have never been to Oregon in the winter,but I am thinking it is NOT a place you would want to winter in while living in a tent on a sidewalk.

Something is going to have to change,or the morgues are going to hiring a LOT of people come December.

Cali, probably LA.  Then snowbird back to Portland in the spring.
