Does anyone remember distance between Secretariat and the rest of the horses in the Belmont Stakes in 1973?

That’s how much better DeSantis is.

@debrawiest

HOLY CRAP! I have never seen or even heard of a lead like that in a horse race on a closed track!

@Slide Rule

Truth to tell,it SEEMS to me that time has passed so slowly since the Dims stole the Presidency for Biden that it seems like he has been in office now for most of my life.

That woman seems to be too young to be the CEO of a large corporation like Disney. Who is she married or otherwise related to?

I have seen a video of the event,and don't believe he even slapped Chris Rock. From one angle it really looks like he didn't touch him.

I honestly believe the whole thing was a setup to get free publicity for both of them.

I don't want to give the perception that I am in any way against woman, competent woman, being in charge but have you noticed how the women Disney puts in charge have the special gift to destroy successful franchises including Disney itself?

Had to be 30 lengths.  Quite  a few people had wrongly predicted that Secretariat wouldn't have the stamina to win the longer Belmont race.  The part that amazed me most was seeing the horse turn his head and look back to see how far behind the other horses were.  Secretariat's victory in this race was the second greatest sports feat of all time.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

@GtHawk

Truthfully,no,I haven't.

Most likely because I have no idea who these people are or what they do when their names are mentioned. On top of that,since I am a poor boy who owns no stock,I pay even less attention to what corporation they are mishandling.

At times it seems like the more I know,the less I understand.

@Hoodat

That had to be the most memorable ride of that jockey's career. He probably spent the rest of his life getting free drinks from that one.

And there can be NO doubt that horse had the heart of a warrior and a champion.

"Dumb animals" my big red ass!

BTW,I am not a sports fan,so tell me what sporting event beat that amazing run for the top spot.

Pittsburgh Pirate pitcher Dock Ellis threw a no-hitter while tripping on acid.

   Hakeem Olajuwon schooling David Robinson (MVP) was the best sports moment for me.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

@Hoodat

Nothing special about that. Hell,the acid helped him focus and gave him super-human strength.

Assuming,of course,that he didn't take a mega-dose.

A nice buzz would give him an almost super human ability to focus,though.
