There is something so familiar about that pose, where have I seen it before, some guy with a little black mustache and military uniform. Both hated America and advanced their views by sowing racial discord and demonizing a segment of their population. And coincidently both suffered from delusions of grandeur.

Nope, but it sure helps to add to the tax coffers, and really that's all politicians really care about.

I don't disagree with that @catfish1957 but there are other considerations. Let's say Republicans take back the senate next year. Who becomes Majority leader if not McConnell?  Mitch isn't up for re-election until 2026.

Same question in the House if not McCarthy who?

Ted Cruz and Marjorie Taylor Greene (just to watch the heads explode--on both sides of the aisle.)

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Aversion to and disgust of is a natural normal orientation. Our desire to beat pedophiles into unrecognizable pulp is something we can make acceptable through legislation....or careful planning and concealment.
