In retrospect, you are correct.  But based on what was publicly known in early 2020, efforts went towards securing a vaccine, just as they had done for SARS-1 in 2005, annual flu strains, MMR, polio, small pox, etc.  The government's role was to ensure there was an option.  Unfortunately here, the government made its usual mistake of picking winners and losers.

The bottom line is that we now have a shot that people can get in their typically human attempt to search for the easy way out.  But now that there is that option, the government should let each person decide for him/herself what course of action to take.  And that includes ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, etc.

The government's role was to make a vaccine available for the people.  That is where it ended.

Well, the governments job, that we pay handsomely for, is to provide for national security which is to prevent, deter, detect and remediate ANY threat to the USA.  It is the NIH/DHS/US Military job to secure the country from all threats, to include Nuclear, Biological and Chemical, and have the knowledge/processes and tools to react to an incident.  And should an incident occur, we have spent hundreds of billions on Disaster Recovery and Continuity of operations planning over the last 30 years.
By ANY measure you wish to chose, the Federal Government has FAILED at every level.
I WANT A DAMN REFUND!!

No argument there.  As a start, government should be forced to live within its means.  There has not been a single year in my entire life where the government hasn't borrowed or printed money to fund itself.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

You mention that, but the efficacy of zinc against SARS-1 was well known, long before the chimera got loose from the labs in Wuhan. Why, then, did not one of the "studies" of hydroxychloroquine include zinc? In fact, none of the basic precepts of that entire protocol were followed in those alleged research papers contrived to damn a viable treatment, and even though those treatments are being proven, time and again, to be significantly effective, it is the Government which is standing in the way of them being used, as much and whenever possible, to the extent that those who are prescribed Hydroxychloroquine for ON LABEL use (most notably Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus) are having a hard time getting their meds.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.
