The aftermath of Trump buying Democrat politicians to make political 'deals' in his favor. In this case, Trump was bankrolling an anti-gambling PAC to stop competing casinos from coming into NY. But hey, that's just business, right?
Clyde Williams, a former White House aide in the Bill Clinton administration, is accusing one of his opponents, long-time Harlem Assemblyman Keith Wright, of having done Trump’s bidding during a fight over a proposed Indian-run casino.
Wright and then-state Sen. Larry Seabrook brought a lawsuit in 1999 to block the governor from unilaterally approving the project. The suit was funded by the Institute for Law and Society, an upstate anti-gambling group that had been secretly bankrolled by Trump.....
...The commission did, however, fine Trump and his associates a then-record $250,000 to settle its probe into whether the billionaire developer illegally lobbied to stop the proposed Catskill casino that threatened his Atlantic City gambling interests. The project ultimately died......
