Like previous Muslim rapists in Australia, his defense will likely involve claims that he didn't know he was doing anything wrong due to cultural differences.

Adel Nafady, 28, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday facing charges of rape, assault and unlawful imprisonment.

Prosecutor Lesley Taylor, SC, alleged Nafady connected with the women through various social networking and dating websites before raping them at his Windsor apartment between March and May last year.

It it is alleged a seventh woman broke free from Nafady on a street as he tried to force her up to the apartment.

Nafady was born in Egypt and arrived in Australia in February last year, to study business administration in Melbourne, Ms Taylor said.

And look how much he has contributed to Australia already.

From the end of February to May 21, he allegedly made contact with 72 women via various websites, primarily using phone applications.

Just imagine if he hadn't been stopped. And he was a monster on a mission.

Within weeks of his arrival, prosecutor Lesley Taylor SC said, Mr Nafady began contacting women on several dating websites, including OkCupid, Plenty of Fish and Meetme.

Out of the seven, three were Australian nationals, while three were on student visas from Columbia, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Mr Nafady has been charged with raping one of the alleged victims six times and another, five times. He is also accused of stealing $370 in cash from three women.

The woman who allegedly managed to escape Mr Nafady had only been in Australia for two days after arriving in the country for a working holiday from Hong Kong.

Based on this listing, it seems as if he was targeting foreigners, but seemingly mostly non-Muslim women, in Australia who would be the most vulnerable.
