Better Business Bureau denies debate night "fax" to Trump

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is disputing a report that it had provided Donald Trump's campaign with a "fax" of Trump University ratings during a commercial break for the Fox News Republican debate on Thursday.

The Independent Journal Review posted a video to Twitter showing Trump handing a piece of paper to debate moderators during the break:

Trump can be heard on the recording saying, "Better Business Bureau just sent it...this just came in."

But the BBB said they were not the source of the fax.

On Friday, the organization said this: "A video released by Independent Journal implies that BBB sent a fax in the middle of last night's Republican debate, which we did not. The BBB Business Review of Trump Entrepreneur Initiative (formerly Trump University) has shown 'No Rating' continually since September 2015. The photo tweeted out after the debate last night did not show the current BBB Business Review or the current rating."

The statement comes amid an ongoing controversy over the now-defunct Trump University, which is currently embroiled in a civil lawsuit, and its previous BBB ratings.

On Thursday's debate stage, Trump said of his school, "We have a 98 percent approval rating, we have an 'A' from the Better Business Bureau, and people like it."

Debate moderator and Fox News host Megyn Kelly responded that "the rating from the BBB was a D-minus, and it was a result of a number of complaints they received."

Trump later claimed the rating was elevated to an "A."

According to the BBB statement, "Over the years, the company's BBB rating has fluctuated between an A+ and a D-. At this time, the status is 'No Rating' because the company is believed to be out of business."

The BBB's refuting claim is just one of the problems to crop up out of Trump's performance on the debate stage Thursday.

A CNN report filed Saturday charged Trump with breaking Fox News' debate rules, citing sources from rival campaigns and the cable network.

According to CNN, Trump consulted with campaign manager Corey Lewandowski during the first commercial break Thursday. That contact would have violated Fox News' stated debate rules, which prohibit any contact between the candidate and their campaign.

Trump's campaign has not responded to a request for comment about the CNN report.

Trump is a habitual liar. And he does what liars habitually do.

There is a paper trail on this issue and when Trump U was functioning it went from the top rating, which all business start out at to D-. Whether it is important or not, that's a different question, but Trump arguing that it isn't the rating he got is total BS.

The Right Scoop was able to get a copy of their rating when the U was active, it was a D-.

The problem with what Trump showed them was they run their rating for a rolling 12 month and the University has been shut down much longer than that.

Either Trump has been purposfully lying about this or, to give him the benefit of the doubt, he surrounds himself with Yes people who painted the picture they thought he wanted to see.

There is enough evidence agaist Trump on this one. He lied about the rating, and the supposed fax from bbb. TU closed with a D- rating.

Can we believe anything he tells us?

Revealed: Here’s What Trump Handed Fox News Debate Hosts During Commercial Break

Trump did not let the issue rest...

Jack Davis March 4, 2016

During Thursday night’s Republican presidential debate, Donald Trump was put on the spot about Trump University, which is the subject of a class action lawsuit.

“We have a 98 percent approval rating, we have an A from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and people like it,” Trump said at the GOP primary debate Thursday.

Rival Marco Rubio said Trump’s claim was “false. That’s a D minus. Go on my website.”

Fox News host Megyn Kelly intervened in the discussion and sided with Rubio.

“With respect, we went back and looked at this,” Kelly said. “The rating from the Better Business Bureau was a D minus. That’s the last publicly available rating in 2010, and it was a result of the number of complaints they had received.”

“The only reason it was a D was because we didn’t care, we didn’t give them the information,” he said.

Kelly said there was no proof of Trump’s claim that the BBB gave the project an A.

“I can give it to you,” he said. “I will give it to you. I will give it to you tomorrow. … It was elevated to an A.”

Trump urged patience on the issue.

“Let’s see what happens in court. This is a civil case, very easy to have settled, could settle it now, very easy to have settled. … Let’s see what happens at the end of a couple years when this case is over,” Trump said.

“It’s been going for five years,” Kelly shot back.

“Yeah, it’s been going for a long time,” Trump responded.

Trump did not let the issue rest there. During a commercial break, Trump handed debate moderator Bret Baier a fax he received at the Detroit venue where the debate was held. Apparently, the fax contained updated BBB information, Trump posted a copy of the fax on Facebook, showing an ‘A’ grade from the BBB.

The updated information was not made public during the show. Trump handed it to the Fox hosts just before the candidates’ closing statements.

Trump says - "This is a civil case, very easy to have settled, could settle it now, very easy to have settled."

Well then settle it. You have billions of dollars don't you? So what are you worrying about?    You know Hillary is going to use it. And do we want a Presidential nominee called into court to testify?

Revealed: Here’s What Trump Handed Fox News Debate Hosts During Commercial Break

It jumped to an A only after Trump University went defunct - changing the name to The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative (formerly Trump University). But Trump University the one named in the lawsuit ended with a d- and that is fact.

Another reason Democrats would be thrilled to have Trump as an opponent, so much to attack him with.

So very much.

There's just as much to use against Hillary. The problem is few or none of the LIVs seem to care about emails, Benghazi, dirty donations from overseas or any of the other skeletons in her closet(s).   **nononono*

Yes, but like the tree in the forest, if the media doesn't report on it it's not going to effect her.
