Everyone wants positive so here. Trump fired back at the racism charges hard.

I honestly, hand on heart, believe that Trump is no overt racist, and no more racist than most in the less obvious sense of the word racist, despite his sometimes reprehensible phrasing.

He wouldn't be, it's bad business and bad for business.

Reprehensible phrasing?

He disavowed Duke on Friday then, after getting pushback from his twitter followers,  equivocated on Sunday about both Duke AND the KKK.

If he's not racist, he sure wants that racist vote and will compromise himself to get it.

Trump is a calculating, conniving, scheming, unctuous pr*ck. 

That being said, It wouldn't surprise me if he let it "Air Out" on the line on purpose to see which way the wind would blow, rather than walk it back on the spot.

I agree with that. He made it known with his very, very strong example that his elite golf club ($120K membership application fee, $30K/year dues) is open to anyone. Amazing. He is right, no one, every, ever, ever has done so much for equality as Our DonaldTM.
