Crowd boos Haley at S.C. Trump rally

Donald Trump slammed South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as weak on immigration at a rally in Sumter, S.C., on Wednesday.

When Trump mentioned Haley’s name, his supporters booed their home-state governor just hours after she threw her support behind Marco Rubio’s campaign.

“Nikki Haley gave a speech a couple weeks ago –” Trump said, stopping as the crowd jeered.

“Yeah it’s not good,” he said. “It’s not good. First of all, she’s very weak on illegal immigration. Very weak. Very, very weak. She’s very weak on illegal immigration. You can’t have that. We need strong, strong immigration policies.”

In January, Haley warned in her State of the Union rebuttal that Republicans must not follow the “angriest voices” in the party. Haley later admitted she was referring to Trump.

The GOP front-runner has since incorporated that flap into his stump speech, saying that she’s right about him being angry and that he won’t apologize for it.

“I am angry, I’ll be honest,” Trump said Wednesday. “And so are the people that follow me, because we have the most loyal people and the people that follow Trump are angry. They’re angry.”

“Remember this – we’re not angry people,” he continued. “But you get upset and you get angry when you see such gross stupidity and incompetence."

CBS News poll: Trump maintains commanding lead over GOP field

Donald Trump (35 percent) continues to hold a commanding lead over the rest of the field, with a 17 point lead over his closest rival, Texas Senator Ted Cruz (18 percent). John Kasich (11 percent) has now risen to a virtual third-place tie with Marco Rubio (12 percent). Trump leads among nearly every demographic group.

More than half of Republican voters say they may still change their minds about who to support, but two thirds of Trump voters say their minds are made up.

Seven in 10 Republican primary voters want a candidate who will shake up the system, and their top choice for the nomination is Donald Trump. Just one in four want someone who will work within the system.

Donald Trump is also seen as most likely to get things done in Washington, far outpacing his rivals on this measure.

Trump's support cuts across nearly every demographic group in the Republican electorate. He holds a double digit lead among Republicans and independents, men and women, white evangelicals, and Americans of all income levels. He leads among Republican voters of all age and education levels, but does particularly well among voters without college degrees.

No, no, no. Rupert Murdoch/NBC/WSJ says Rubio is leading. Pay no attention to the overwhelming majority of American people saying otherwise.

So 20% of Trump voters are solid.

Not good for Trump.

A plurality of Republican voters in a field of six. Take out five, and Trump loses to Cruz or Rubio.

Pardon me. But, are you using common core? Try testing your hypothesis against reality, okay?

There is 'common sense,' and there is Progressive Republican Sense.

The two are not related.

By the way, it's quite amusing hearing you defend Cruz, a man you hated when he ran against Dewhurst.... Facts are stubborn things.

Is it incompetence or is it graft? (I'm speaking of the concept of unrestricted immigration)

Sorry.  That's 20% of Republican voters, not Trump supporters.

Even worse for Trump.

I think that it's more than a little ironic that the only people who have actually expended real efforts to pass better border security and employer enforcement laws are the ones being called RINOs, incompetents, open border/amnesty Democrat-lites.  Been that way for over ten years now, with a sub-set of Republicans and a majority on the so-called conservative forums.  Haley for example is being ridiculed by Trump and his supporters while she continues to be among those with the highest approval ratings of any governor.

But now we find out From Trump she's nothing but an open-border, amnesty pushing GOP RINO elitist.  Who knew here in South Carolina?
It's the Supreme Court nominations!

Yes. But, he's a cretin who loves America and has an America-first plan to protect American security and economic future.

Sorry, but you're short sighted and are just hung up on the fact that Trump doesn't comport to your vision of how a genteel politician is supposed to genuflect and soothe your moralistic views. Trump don't do kabuki, he lives in Realsville--stopping Islamic terrorism and the collapse of the American Dream is why Donald Trump is running; that, and stopping the politicians from robbing us blind.

Of course Trump will protect American security and its economic future.  He says so and it will happen by his sheer force of will.

He has no plan for doing any of that, just platitudes and generalities, but, when he figures out how to do it, it will be the best plan any human being could ever come up with, ever.

I made a mistake.
