Adam Jentleson — Deputy Chief of Staff for Senate Minority leader Harry Reid — tweeted Tuesday that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will allow President Obama’s eventual nomination to fill Antonin Scalia’s Supreme Court Seat.

Jentleson’s tweets come just after Sen. Chuck Grassley said he would “wait until the nominee is made before” ruling out holding affirmation hearings.

On Saturday, McConnell had released a statement claiming “the American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President.” (RELATED: McConnell Rules Out Scalia Replacement Under Obama)

McConnell’s office declined to give further comment on Jentleson’s tweets, saying “the Leader’s statement is his only statement” on the matter.

Mitch McConnell on beating tea party: ‘We are going to crush them’

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell vowed any tea party candidates challenging establishment Republicans in the 2014 midterm elections would not just fail — but fail miserably.

“I think we are going to crush them everywhere,” he said, The New York Times reported, “I don’t think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country.”

The Trumpies always bite, like fish churning after chum.   

This is not about replacing one of the liberals on the court.  The court's balance is at stake, so the Schumer rule should apply - in an election year, let the voters decide who should pick the nominee.   Hearing may be held, a vote may even be scheduled, but unless Obama does the unexpected and nominates a true moderate,  I am confident that no Obama nominee will be confirmed.

But I'd try looking at this story as a form of Democrat PsyOps - a Harry Reid staffer "leaks" a story to a receptive media outlet that purports to confirm conservative Repubicans' worst suspicions about Mitch McConnell.  Too easy.
