Mom always said it is better to be found dead in bed with a pillow over your head  than with  a ball gag in your mouth and tied to a four poster bed.

The Judge who declared the death to be of natural causes and was first to decline an autopsy is a Democrat.

So?  It is rural Texas .

Let it go

I won't let it go.  It is too important.  The death of Scalia is party time for Democrats.  She was irresponsible to not request an autopsy.  She should lose her job over this, regardless of how the facts play out on this.  She just did not want to know.  You might as well have called Barak Insane Obama and asked him if an autopsy was warranted.

Did you see this I posted above on the second med examiner?

Guevara declined to comment further to the Post, but told WFAA that Scalia's death certiticate would list list myocardial infraction - a heart attack - as the official cause of death.

She told the station that she planned to drive to the ranch but changed her mind when a U.S. Marshal told her by phone:"It's not necessary for you to come, judge. If you're asking for an autopsy, that's what we need to clarify."

Guevara said she asked the Marshals if there were "'any signs of foul play.' And they said, 'Absolutely not,''' she told the station. After talking with Scalia's personal physician, she said, she pronounced him dead and declined to order an inquest.

Bad decision by the judge.  She should be fired at minimum.

Nope.

"Bad decision by the judge.  She should be fired at minimum."

I don't think you can fire a JP in Texas as in that state they are elected officials. That said, I agree with you that given the importance of the deceased and his death's impact on the court, an autopsy is probably warranted. It's up to his family now, however, and Flowers has stated (page 1), "I think i read this in the latimes.....the family didn't want one."

Urgent calls begin for Scalia autopsy
Rush to 'natural causes' conclusion criticized
Published: 13 hours ago

WASHINGTON – The seemingly quick conclusion that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died of “natural causes” this weekend is prompting calls for an autopsy and toxicological reports by activists and across social media platforms.

William Gheen, president of the Americans for Legal Immigration political action committee, noted the media’s “rush” to proclaim Scalia’s death in a rented room in a resort in Texas as either “natural causes” or heart attack within hours of the discovery of his body.

“Anytime a head of state, member of Congress, or the most conservative member of the U.S. Supreme Court is found dead, an extensive autopsy and toxicology examination should be both immediate and mandatory,” said Gheen. “The horrid reaction and comments about his death expressed by many liberals online illustrate that Scalia was hated by many people. His death hands the power of the Supreme Court to the modern left for the first time in American history. The court can now vote, even without a replacement of Scalia, to radically change the United States of America. Scalia’s death means the Supreme Court is now very likely to rubber stamp Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty orders, tear down Republican drawn districts in many states including North Carolina, and take deep left turns on abortion, gun rights, or anything the liberals have ever dreamed of. Scalia was a solid vote against Obama’s immigration orders to be decided by April of this year. We do not contend there is a conspiracy, we contend that there should be no doubts, and the way authorities and the media are rushing conclusions will leave major doubts and legitimate concerns about a death that could lead to a radical political transformation of America to the left.”

The body arrived at a Texas funeral home a day after he died while on a hunting trip. Chris Lujan of Sunset Funeral Homes in El Paso said the body of the late justice arrived early Sunday. Scalia had been staying at the Cibolo Creek Ranch in Presidio County, Texas, during a quail hunting trip, said federal officials. He was 79.

Wonder why Barack Obama does what he does? Andrew G. Hodges, a psychiatrist who specializes in forensic profiling, may have the answer, in “The Obama Confession: Secret Fear. Secret Fury.”

Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara, who pronounced Scalia dead, said the death certificate will say the cause of death was natural, and that he died of a heart attack. She said no autopsy was necessary.

Guevara said she talked to Scalia’s doctor in Washington, D.C., who told her he had been sick and had been at his office Wednesday and Thursday before going on the hunting trip Friday.

According to Guevara, Scalia told his group Friday at dinner he was not feeling well and went to his room early. He then missed breakfast and lunch Saturday and was found unresponsive in his bed.

What do YOU think? Should an autopsy be performed on Scalia? Sound off in today’s WND poll.

Scalia, who was appointed to the high court by former President Ronald Reagan, was the longest-serving justice on the court, having taken his seat on Sept. 26, 1986.

The Washington Post reported that after Scalia’s body was found:

It then took hours for authorities in remote West Texas to find a justice of the peace, officials said Sunday. When they did, she pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes without seeing the body and decided not to order an autopsy. A second justice of the peace, who was called but couldn’t get to Scalia’s body in time, said she would have ordered an autopsy.

As late as Sunday afternoon, there were conflicting reports about whether an autopsy would be performed, though officials later said Scalia’s body was being embalmed and there would be no autopsy. One report, by WFAA-TV in Dallas, said the death certificate would show the cause of the death was a heart attack.

As late as Sunday afternoon, for example, there were conflicting reports about whether an autopsy should have been performed. A manager at the El Paso funeral home where Scalia’s body was taken said his family made it clear that they did not want one.

Meanwhile, Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara acknowledged that she pronounced Scalia dead by phone, without seeing his body. Instead, she spoke to law enforcement officials at the scene – who assured her “there were no signs of foul play” – and Scalia’s physician in Washington, who said that the 79-year-old justice suffered from a host of chronic conditions.

“He was having health issues,” Guevara said, adding that she is awaiting a statement from Scalia’s doctor that will be added to his death certificate when it is issued later this week.

Guevara also rebutted a report by a Dallas TV station that quoted her as saying that Scalia had died of “myocardial infarction.” In an interview with The Washington Post, she said she meant only that his heart had stopped.

“It wasn’t a heart attack,” Guevara said. “He died of natural causes.”

Despite calls from conservatives for his seat to not be filled until a new president was elected, President Obama said Saturday he intends to nominate a replacement before his term ends.

CBS and the Associated Press report today that authorities, including Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara, are considering an autopsy for Judge Scalia, although toxicological testing could already be in doubt due to the delay. There is also a report that after arriving at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, the Sunset Funeral Home embalmed Scalia’s remains, according to Chris Lujuan, a funeral home manager. The embalming process could destroy vital toxicology evidence.

Gheen is calling on activists to call members of Congress and Presidio County Judge Guevara to demand an immediate and comprehensive investigation into what he calls “the suspiciously timed death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia that includes extensive multi-agency law enforcement forensic autopsies and toxicology reports to put these questions to rest or determine if foul play was involved.”

Sometimes things are what they seem.  Old people die.  Let it GO.
Right before a lame-duck President who wants desperately to have a legacy and create another Warren Court leaves office?

The timing is suspicious. The circumstance of death looks enough to be suspicious. The sudden rush to declare it natural is suspicious. The fact that Andrew Breitbart, a man half Scalia's age, died under eerily similar circumstances four years ago looks suspicious.

Could it be a simple heart attack and serious unfortunate timing? Yes, it could. Yet in these times, we can't afford to not make sure of it.

Why did he go on a hunting trip at age 79 if he was suffering from chronic illnesses?

Well, he could die from doing nothing or he could die doing something he enjoyed.  I guess when it comes down to it, we all have the same choice.

Anybody found with a pillow over their head who is declared to have died of 'natural causes' thereby making an autopsy 'unnecessary'... has been murdered...

Because he does what he wants to do. My grandfather is 94, has had a lot of heart problems, and still drives from LA to Las Vegas to gamble at least once a month (not a senior citizen bus either, just got a new BMW convertible and new girlfriend). When you are old and you can do it, stubbornness usually wins the day.

Doesn't really mean much. A lot of people (myself included) sleep with a pillow over our heads. The media though, love to drop little things to start to create a conspiracy to get readers.

I wonder what the narrative would be were Obama found dead with a pillow over his head and a Republican J.P. declares that he died of 'natural causes' making an autopsy 'unnecessary'...

I'd leave it up to the family.   Scalia was a religious man.   If there was no evidence other than that this was a heart attack in bed,  why would the family want the body cut up, when it can be embalmed and be respectfully committed to the earth?

Scalia died a lion in winter,  and his Maker decided when to cut the cord.   Perhaps He did it for a reason.   No conspiracies, please.  We must take what we can from this and unite.

Big difference between going gambling, where casinos are filled with old people and going hunting. Plus, Scalia knew how important it is to stay alive when his successor could be a liberal.

He hunts too, so does my FIL who also has had a lot of heart issues and has several stints. People do what they want. They don't really think too much about mortality, especially in our culture. There is nothing unusual at all about someone of his age and means doing what he wants. I'm sure if you had a chance to ask him, he would rather have gone out this way than sitting around in a hospital bed, being 'safe', staring at the walls.

He went to Texas to hunt. This is a Supreme Court Justice, and he risked his life while Obama was president.
