White School Board Member Accused Of Racism For Quoting A Black Man

A white Illinois school board member is under fire for failing to understand the ridiculous rules of racism. She didn’t know that when a black person says something it is fine but when a white person says the exact same thing it is racist. After the white woman quoted a black author, the outrage brigade stormed the gates of the school with torches and pitchforks demanding her head.

Jeanette Ward is a member of the board for the Elgin Area School District U-46. On February 1st, to help kick off Black History Month, she posted a quote on the board’s FaceBook page. Unfortunately, it was not something black people wanted to read:

Blacks have become their own worst enemy, and liberal leaders do not help matters by blaming self-inflicted wounds on whites or ‘society.’ The notion that racism is holding back blacks as a group, or that better black outcomes cannot be expected until racism has been vanquished, is a dodge. And encouraging blacks to look to politicians to solve their problems does them a disservice.

That was not an original thought, Ward was quoting from the book “Please Stop Helping Us: How Liberals Make It Harder for Blacks to Succeed” by author Jason L. Riley. In case you were wondering, Riley is black.

The Daily Herald reports that on Monday the school board held a meeting to discuss Ward’s post. Many said it was “racist speech” and there were calls for her resignation.

“When we honor Black History Month, we ought to know what black history is all about,” said one woman who “was appalled by the racism embedded in Ward’s post.”

Yes, there is nothing as appallingly racist as the words of a black man, is there?

Ward explained that by posting that particular quote she was trying to offer a different perspective on Black History Month.

“There was nothing respectful toward or celebratory of Black History Month contained in the passage posted by Ms. Ward. If her words and the quoted passage from the book is indeed to offer a fresh perspective, it appears as if there has been a failure to communicate. It continues to blame the victim, and ignores institutionalized racism,” said Danise Habun, a member of the Elgin Human Relations Commission.

Again, these are not Ward’s words; it is a quote from a black author. If the post blames the victim and ignores institutionalized racism, these uptight kooks should take it up with the black guy who actually wrote it.

Ward tried to appeal to the angry mob’s sense of reason, which probably went over as well as her FaceBook post:

“I want all people to succeed. There is one race — the human race. Did I not honor that African-American author by quoting him? I stand by quoting Jason L. Riley,” said Ward.

This is basically where we are now in this country: A white woman quotes a black man word for word and she is labeled a racist. I don’t really know what to say other than: God help us all.

Shades of 'niggardly'. The longer we go, the less we learn.

Because in liberal land, the only good black is the one loyally serving in the liberal plantation mansion. All others are traitors to their race or not real blacks, as judged by the liberal white plantation masters.

One root problem, which is never voiced or recognized is this: American blacks have average IQs of 85 versus whites with 100, Hispanics with 95 and Asians about 105.

That big gap between 100 and 85 limits just how much reality is really within their intellectual grasp.

When you see them act violently, for many it is what they do with what they have; one-half are below 85.

Sure there are a few Dr. Carson's and Dr. Sowell's but only a few.

They receive unfortunately the worst all around education of anyone, so no surprise. It's the self-destructive ghetto 'being educated is acting white' mentality. It's the same mentality that exists in white blue-collar locales, except substitute rich for white.
