Chicago on Monday: Sixteen shot in eleven hours, five are killed
posted at 10:01 pm on January 27, 2016 by Matt Vespa

Monday proved to be another bloody day in the Windy City, where 16 people were shot in an 11-hour period. Five were killed and 11 wounded, according to the Chicago Tribune. You can read about the tragic details relating to the victims and their families there. The publication noted that the city had gone almost two days without a shooting; this violently shattered that calm.

Sixteen people were shot in an 11-hour period Monday, including two along a Safe Passage route in the West Englewood neighborhood, according to authorities.

The shootings – from Cragin on the Northwest Side to Roseland on the Far South Side – left five dead. Those shot ranged in age from 16 to 56. Several survivors were left in critical condition.

The burst of shootings came after no one was reported shot in the city through most of the day Sunday into early Monday

    […]

At least 228 people have been shot in January, 37 of them fatally.

In the first ten days of the New Year, more than 100 people were shot in Chicago. Given this recent string of shootings, we shouldn’t expect them to slow down any time soon.

More proof that gun control laws that are unenforced and a legal system that is soft on gun using criminals work wonders.  Something like 80-90% if the Chicago shootings are in the hood with a lot of them by felons who aren't supposed to have guns to begin with.  It proves no matter what laws are in effect, criminals will always be able to get them.  Honest people then are left with  no means of protection against the thugs.

Sadly, it began soon after the kids' fathers began to abandon any pretense of personal responsibility and became perennially jobless, permanent state dependents serially uneducated in failing public schools in rotten city projects devoid of hope and any connection with American history and culture.

By the way: "LeRoi Washington" is a proud, entirely old school, pre-liberal devastation Black Man's name, representing as it does the celebration of the surname of an American president, and a first name taken from the French language, meaning "The King".

Many of the others one hears and sees today result from poor education, celebrity worship, urban Islamism, and a kind of sadly misbegotten Afrocentrism.

Add barefoot and pregnant, and you have the complete plan on keeping them broke, ignorant, and dependent on the Dim Plantation.

Anybody that thinks this happened by accident is clueless. Black culture and living conditions have done nothing but drop since the 50's ended.

Back then most black babies were born into two parent families, and the fathers worked every day to support the family, and the mother stayed at home to provide for and watch over the children.

The left, with the help of the Kennedy Klan, took over America in the 60's,and it's been nothing but downhill for working class whites, blacks, and everyone else since then.

And ever since, their victims have rewarded Democrats with their eternal loyalty.

Well,the Dims did buy them with welfare checks,free cell phones,gubbermint setaside jobs,minority contracts,AA job hires,AA college degrees,etc,etc,etc.

And it ain't like they were spending THEIR money because THEIR money is all locked away in trust funds or offshore accounts where they don't have to pay any taxes. They are doing it by taxing the working middle class.

Most recently,Bathhouse Barry brought back inheritance taxes.

2016 Off To A Bloody Start as Shootings Double: 42 People Killed, 210 Hurt
By Kelly Bauer | January 27, 2016 8:23am | Updated on January 28, 2016 9:53am

CHICAGO — Forty-two people have been killed and 210 wounded so far in January, almost doubling last year's numbers.

It was the most violent January in years, according to DNAinfo Chicago data: In all, there were 199 shootings Jan. 1-25, while there were just 100 shootings over the same period last year. The data doesn't include the victims of violence from Tuesday into Wednesday, when three people were killed and another wounded.

Through early Tuesday, 42 people had been shot dead and 210 wounded, while last January saw 22 people dead and 98 wounded in shootings. On Monday alone, five people were shot and killed in just 11 hours.

Here's how this January compares to the past (data is for Jan 1-25 of each year listed):

How can Chicago Police combat the city's gang and gun violence?

Total shootings   People killed   People wounded
January 2016   199   42   210
January 2015   100   22   98
January 2014   70   16   63
January 2013   131   25   127
January 2012   116   28   107
January 2011   118   15   125
January 2010   82   12   90

The month of soaring shooting numbers follows a rise in gun violence throughout all of 2015. Last year saw 2,427 shootings and 468 homicides, the highest those numbers have been since 2012, when the city had 2,451 shootings and 506 homicides.

Chicago Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment on this month's rise in shootings.

But earlier this month DNAinfo Chicago found officers were making fewer stops, fewer gun arrests and confiscating fewer guns even while shootings had risen. Morale has sunk among officers, sources said.

"Taunting" on social media between gang members has played a significant role in this year's rise in shootings, interim Supt. John Escalante said in mid-January.

Gang members have taken to Twitter and other social media platforms to argue, issue threats and arrange conflict-ridden meetups. One study found 74 percent of gang members who responded to a survey identified as frequent Internet users and said they "had established an online presence to gain respect for their gang."

Social media is the "modern gang graffiti," Escalante said.

To combat those gangs and gun violence, Chicago Police have partnered with the Cook County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's deputies will join police patrols where violence has spiked in 2016, Escalante said. The departments seek to root out the city's gangs.

"Together we are going to send a clear message, a unified message, that gang violence in our communities will not be tolerated," Escalante said.

Of course.

Jim Crow and The Klan did far less damage to blacks (in their time) than the destruction that has been wrought upon them by the democrats and the left.

I have no white guilt and I don't care.
