This is simply my opinion, with only my own observations to back it up.
I think obamacare paved the way for single payer healthcare. Now that throngs of baby boomers are retiring/retired, they want some form of healthcare that won't bankrupt them. The more fortunate of the working class have paid off their house just in time to replace the payment with healthcare premiums. And God forbid they actually get sick, that's a path to bankruptcy.
It's my opinion that the party that comes up with a fix/alternative to obamacare that works is going to do much to win over voters. Not to mention help a lot of Americans, (something that seems to be low on the list when doing political calculus.)
That is my opinion also,but IMHO no human being alive is capable of doing that.
If you can find somebody that wise,how about do me a favor and ask them what exists after reaching the point where the universe ends? Surely such a simple question should be easy for them to answer if they can fix that mess to everyone's satisfaction.
MY observations are that EVERYWHERE goobermint-mandated health care has became a reality,the quality of care suffers,and the death rate increases by a huge amount as the caretakers have to budget health care. There are NO exceptions to this rule.
On the other hand,where the market itself dicatates the rates,the cost of health care will always go down due to competition and the desire for the industry members to stay in business. Given them access to the goobermint teat,and there is no upper limit to the costs. I might not be personally happy about this,but that is the reality we live under,and the reality we are going to have to live by until we get to the point where we can start flying Unicorns to work.
The truth may not always be what you want to hear or pretty,but it is always the truth.
