They are reading a lot into the poll numbers but it does indicate this may be more than a 3 way race (Trump, Cruz, Rubio). It depends on who turns out their people.

Among young voters, Rand Paul has 16% support in Iowa & is in a virtual tie for second in New Hampshire.

Facts from the new Fox News poll in Iowa:

Rand Paul is in 5th place and just 1% away from 4th place.
With 16% support, Rand Paul is in a clear third place for voters under 45 years old.
Even better, 71% of young voters say they’re “certain” they won’t change their mind, while only 60% of older voters say the same.
Just 7% say they would “never” vote for Rand Paul, while 20% said so of Trump, 14% for Bush, 11% for Cruz, and 8% for Rubio.
Rand Paul’s support jumps to 10% among those who identify as “true conservatives.”

Fact from the new Fox News poll in New Hampshire:

Rand Paul is within the margin of error of 4th place with 5% support.
When asked if there was a candidate they would “never” vote for, Rand Paul received the second-fewest amount of opposition.

Things that make you go  :pondering:...

This is the same kind of surge that brought Huckabee into contention in '08. The question is, is there still enough time for him to vault into top-four, or even top-three?
