Swedes: Try to Reduce Sexual Assaults By Muslim Immigrants With Sex-Ed

A Swedish sex education group has touched on what it believes is the solution to the sexual assault crisis sparked by the wave of refugees entering Europe from predominantly Muslim countries.
"There is an acute need for knowledge about everything from sexually transmitted diseases and condoms to abortion rights, gender equality, legislation and LGBTQ rights," RFSU (the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education) chairperson Kristina Ljungros and secretary-general Maria Andersson wrote in a weekend opinion piece for the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper, Swedish English-language news site the local.se reports.
Europe has been rocked by the huge number of sexual assaults being perpetrated by migrants receiving asylum on the Continent.
"A total of 35,369 refugee children, two thirds from Afghanistan, arrived in Sweden without their parents over the whole of 2015, according to the country's migration agency, Migrationsverket," the local.se reports.
According to the sex-ed campaigners, the culture of masculinity in such Muslim cultures is responsible for the sex assault crisis.
"A large part of these unaccompanied boys come from societies with norms and values around gender and sexuality that in many ways differ from mainstream Swedish society," Ljungros and Andersson wrote.
The Swedish campaign comes as a 26-year-old Algerian migrant is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 25-year-old woman in Dortmund, telling her that he believed "German women are just there for sex," the UK's Daily Mail reports.
The New York Times noted last month that a 2011 Norwegian government report acknowledged that "immigrants are overrepresented in the crime statistics"but blamed the large numbers of young men who make up the ranks of the newcomers for the disparity.
"It should not be surprising if groups with large proportions of young males have higher crime rates than groups with large proportions elderly women,"the report said, the Times reports.
Henry Ove Berg, who was Stavanger’s police chief when that Norwegian city saw a sudden increase in rape cases, said "people from some parts of the world have never seen a girl in a miniskirt, only in a burqa," The Times reports.
Times reporter Andrew Higgins pointed out the culture shock many young Muslim males face when arriving in modern-day Europe.
"When he first arrived in Europe, Abdu Osman Kelifa, a Muslim asylum seeker from the Horn of Africa, was shocked to see women in skimpy clothes drinking alcohol and kissing in public," Higgins wrote.
"Back home, he said, only prostitutes do that."
In October, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump spoke of his concerns with the high percentage of young males who made up the Syrian refugees that the Obama administration wanted to allow into the U.S., citing terrorism fears.
"I heard about three weeks ago when I saw the migration as they call it," Trump told Fox News "Cashin' In" host Eric Bolling. "They were talking about 3,000 people coming here. You say who are they, do they have papers? Then I heard 10, 25. Now 200,000 people.
"If you look at this migration it is mostly young, strong men."
