Cruz slams Obama for leaving open seat for gun victims

By Harper Neidig

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Friday went after President Obama for announcing that he plans to leave an open seat at the State of the Union in honor of victims of gun violence.

“If I’m elected POTUS, there’ll be an empty seat for the over 50 million unborn children killed since Roe,” Cruz tweeted, adding the hashtag #Stand4Life.

The remark was in response to a tweet from the White House announcing that a seat in the president’s guest box would be left open “to honor the victims of gun violence.”

Cruz has been stepping up his attacks on the president this week in the wake of Tuesday’s unveiling of executive actions aimed at reducing gun violence.

Shortly after Obama announced the measures, Cruz’s campaign website posted a photoshopped image of the president in combat gear, with a caption that says, “Obama wants your guns.”

And in an interview with CNN on Thursday, Cruz said that Obama is “the most anti-gun president” in history.

Of course Obama would leave a seat for dead people. After all, how many voted for him?
