Francis Ford Coppola: Muslims Aren't Terrorists, George Washington was a Terrorist
"We were terrorists, in the United States."

Finally, the debate over Obama's plan to bring 1,300 ISIS supporters to America has an authoritative voice. The producer of Jeepers Creepers III has weighed in. And I do mean weighed in.

In an interview with Variety magazine, Francis Ford Coppola, jury president of the 15th Marrakech International Film Festival, accused the international media of shallowness, saying that the West failed to recognize the roots of radical Islam as a result.

Said the veteran director. “I know a lot about the Middle East and I know a lot about Islam and it seems to me what we have are fundamentalists who are taking the wrong parts of their religion. I don’t even know where to find what they’re taking from it.”

Maybe the Koran?

"Then fight in the cause of Allah." Quran 2:244

"And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion is all for Allah" Quran (8:39)

"Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other." Quran (4:74)

"Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"  Quran (8:12)

"It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he had made a great slaughter in the land..." Quran (8:67)

Some places for Coppola to start looking. But wait, in a shocking plot twist, we're the real terrorists.

"We were terrorists, in the United States. The Jews before Israel were terrorists. What we sometimes call terrorism is the last resort of people who don’t have jet planes, so that they use what they have.”

So George Washington was a terrorist? Who can forget all the suicide bombings ordered by Thomas Jefferson. Or the time that Alexander Hamilton took the wives of British soldiers as sex slaves. Maybe it's in Howard Zinn's A Stalinist People's History of the United States.

Of course the distinction between terrorists and soldiers doesn't have to do with how many guns you have. It's how you use them. Terrorists avoid fighting armies and instead demoralize soldiers and civilians by acts of terror that exploit the civilian population.

The term Coppola is thinking of is "guerrilla" and it's kind of odd that he chooses not to acknowledge the distinction between terrorist and guerilla.

But while Coppola may not know much about the Koran or terrorism, there is a deeper cultural affinity. Remember when I mentioned Jeepers Creepers?

One of the most popular movies currently playing at the box office, "Jeepers Creepers 2," is a teen horror flick directed by a stomach-turning registered sex offender who was convicted of molesting a 12-year-old-boy he targeted, groomed, seduced, and filmed in pornographic home videos.

The celebrity pervert's name is Victor Salva. The scheming Salva wrote children's books, participated in the Big Brother program, and worked at a San Francisco-area daycare center where he met his prey. He molested the victim, Nathan Winters, from the time the boy was 7.

When police raided Salva's home, they found not only the sex videos of Salva and Winters, but also tapes of naked young men taking showers and a pornographic album of still photos.

After he was released on parole, convicted child molester Salva went on to write and direct the "critically acclaimed" 1995 movie "Powder," in which he worked with many young actors. Winters and his mother bravely went public to protest Salva's involvement. But his employers at Disney -- Disney! -- stood by him, as did liberal stars of the film, Mary Steenburgen and Jeff Goldblum. Also a staunch defender and patron of convicted child molester Salva's: director Francis Ford Coppola, whose company produced "Clownhouse" and the two Jeepers Creepers movies.

But you know... what we sometimes call child rape is sometimes the last resort of pedophiles who don't have their own mansions.

Coppola produced Clownhouse, the movie that Salva used to meet the boy he raped. Coppola's production company was sued and settled out of court. But maybe Victor Salva can shed some light on the affinity of Coppola and his ilk for Islam.

In 1975, the local newspaper reported that a kid named Salva had sat through ”Jaws” a record 68 times. But unlike most of his movie-going pals, Salva, who was gay and overweight, didn’t identify with the hero or the monster hunter: He empathized with the monsters.

Salva has said that when he was a kid devouring horror movies, he felt bad for the monster: "When someone in the movie pointed and screamed, 'Arrrrgh, he's so hideous! He's so ugly!' I thought, 'No, the monster is the most interesting thing about the movie. I wonder what he's thinking and feeling."

We don't have to wonder too hard what Coppola is really thinking and feeling when he sees Muslim terrorists murder some more people.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
Equivocate, equivocate, equivocate. The last resort of liberals. Proud flaming liberal guy kills a bunch of people in a mass shooting, liberal pundit screams at conservative 'well you've shot a gun a couple of times yourself.'  Totally irrelevant, but as long as they have the tiniest thread of connection they can spew at the masses for justification they'll roll with it.

  • "...and the winning number is...not yours!
I missed the part in American history where Colonialists sailed to England and blew up restaurants, churches and schools.

Numb Nutz......anybody who opposes a reigning government can be considered a terrorist.
