White House: It Sure Sucks That Law-Abiding Americans Want To Buy Guns After A Mass Shooting

White House spokesnut and animated mannequin Josh Earnest committed a Kinsley gaffe yesterday, but he probably doesn’t realize it.
For those of you who get your news from The Daily Show, a Kinsley gaffe is when a politician screws up by telling the truth. It’s named after Michael Kinsley, the former Crossfire co-host and poster child for Revenge of the Nerds: The Next Generation.
Earnest committed the gaffe during his daily press briefing.
“It’s tragic that in the immediate aftermath of a series of high profile mass shootings that people feel like they have to go out an purchase a gun,” he said.
It’s “tragic” to left-wing politicians like the one who employs Josh Earnest because it means that the American people are becoming self-reliant as opposed to trusting in government. That’s always bad news for Democrats.
It’s also “tragic” because it forces progressives to face a cold, harsh reality that they only recognize after they’ve been forcibly dragged, kicking and screaming, the truth. Americans simply don’t support their gun control agenda.
The media supports gun control. The Democratic party supports gun control. The entertainment-industrial complex supports gun control. People who don’t care about the U.S. Constitution support gun control.
But the American people writ large? Nope. They like their constitutional freedoms, thank you very much.
So the recent spike in gun purchases is “tragic” only to a government that wants to control people and hates freedom.
That’s why it’s “tragic” to the Obama administration.
