Paul Walker's father sued Porsche for negligence and wrongful death Wednesday over the 2013 accident that killed the "Fast & Furious" star.

Walker's father, who is the executor of his son's estate, filed the lawsuit claiming that the Porsche Carrera GT that his son was riding in lacked safety features that could have saved the actor's life.

The lawsuit cites features included in other pending lawsuits against the automaker over the crash that might have saved the actor's life, including a stability control system, side-door reinforcements and a breakaway fuel line to help prevent the car from bursting into flames after a collision.

Walker was on a break from filming the seventh film in the "Fast & Furious" franchise when he was killed. He was riding in the Carrera GT driven by friend and business associate Roger Rodas when the car spun out of control, struck three trees and burst into flames on a street in Santa Clarita, California.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

Rodas' widow, Kristine, who has a pending claim against Porsche in federal court, also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the carmaker in state court on Wednesday.

An after-hours message sent to Porsche seeking comment was not immediately returned.

The car company has denied in other lawsuits, including one filed by the actor's daughter, that it is responsible for Walker's death.

On Nov. 12, Porsche stated in a court filing that the Carrera GT had been altered and improperly maintained and those factors contributed to the deaths of Walker and Rodas.

They say the car was going 94mph when it crashed. They never should have been driving so fast on a city street. Could have killed more that themselves.

He doesn't seem to have acknowledged his son's own stupidity.

No.....blaming a car, not the driver or his son. You know both the driver and his son had to have raced cars all the time at high speeds on city roads. They took their lives and could have taken out innocent bystanders.

The father's lawsuit mentions lac of stability control.

This is a very, very high performance version of the automobile, essentially a race car built to qualify for certain race series which require "street cars."

Cars that do have stability control, when pushed to the performance limits by professional drivers, will have the stability control turned OFF.

IOW it is assumed that when driving at that speed and degree of difficulty, the drivers will know what they are doing, and will not drive above 90 mph in a suburban commercial setting.

Those types of streets are all over SoCal. They have cars, delivery trucks, etc. Nobody in their right mind goes 94 mpg, period.

Sorry for the family's loss, but it was negligence by the driver, plain and simple. BTW my brother-in-law is a professional driver. I rode in a drift car driven by another professional driver. These guys have skills so far above ours that we cannot even imagine it.

Were the two wearing helmets when they drove 90+ mph on city streets? IOW were they looking out for THEIR OWN safety, when doing unsafe driving?

Most professional drivers (race, stunt, drift, precision, etc.) are strong advocates for safety. Jackie Stewart, Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, etc.

Driving at unsafe speeds on city streets is not safe.
