Of course you do.  Just how much has Cruz accomplished in three years in Congress?  Name one bill that he's sponsored that's passed.

He's accomplished a hell of a lot IMHO! Passing legislation is not the be all end all that you seem to think it is!
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

How much has any member of congress accomplished in recent years? I guess Harry Reid has...

He's managed to shut down the government and call Mitch McConnell a liar and recite Dr. Seuss in a goofy filibuster.  That's about all I remember of him.

He's accomplished nothing except to do exactly as Obama did: serve in the Senate for 15 minutes then start running for President.

How many has Rubio passed?  Or Mitch McConnell  or Harry Reid ...

How many HAS Rubio passed?  He did vote with the Gang of Eight though.

Edited to correct my statement: He was one of the gang of eight.

He's managed to shut down the government

And the GOP benefited immensely for his having done so!

IN your opinion!

Correct. He was. The most junior member, which in politics speak is "Sit down, shut up and fetch me a coffee."

Off-topic, I realize, but...

OK, old Relic. You begged the question.
Exactly -what- do you see and hear around you?

Inquiring minds wish to know.

Nothing conclusive, but I am in Ohio, and I have a wide variety of friends and associates. I have yet to hear one person admit that they'd vote for Donald Trump. Obviously, I don't know everyone in Ohio, and there will be votes cast for Trump. However, my slice of Ohio gives me a decent read on where the state is going. I was sure it would be Obama in 2008, and thought it would be Obama again in 2012, (but closer).

Trump is too much of a showman, and not enough of a statesman. While people hate politicians, they don't want a carnival barker as president. It's been said before, Trump evokes memories of Gov. Jesse Ventura.

Remember, people hate politicians, and want them all thrown out, except for their guy. Their guy is the only good one, hence incumbents are often re-elected. What I'm saying is that anti-establishment sentiment only goes so far.  I will be as shocked as anyone if there is a president Donald Trump.
