"UFC champion Ronda Rousey has made an endorsement in the 2016 presidential race: Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

In an interview with Maxim, Rousey said she admired the Democratic socialist’s approach to fundraising.

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” she said. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.”

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” she said. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.”

Rousey said voting third party is nothing new for her.

“I voted for Roseanne [Barr] last time,” she said. “Mostly I went in to vote for all the state and local things. I was so unimpressed with the whole presidential campaign that I picked whatever third party I saw, and I saw Roseanne and thought, ‘That’s awesome.’ But I’m really pulling for Sanders this time. I hope it works out.”

Pretty fair female athlete but apparently none too bright.

That's what you get when you are hit in the head too many times.

But they should be able to take as much of my money as they like.  :chairbang:

"MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Holly Holm pulled off a stunning upset victory over Ronda Rousey in UFC 193, knocking out the women’s bantamweight champion in the second round with a powerful kick to the head Sunday.

Rousey attempted to dominate the second round, pushing Holm around the ring until the challenger snapped a massive kick to the head that instantly dropped her opponent to the canvas.

Holm dived on the prone Rousey, delivering several blows to her head before the referee intervened. An ecstatic Holm jumped around the ring as Rousey received medical treatment."

Given her recent endorsement of Sanders, maybe she already was suffering the ill effects of one too many kicks to the head.

It was just a redistribution of victories. It wasn't fair she won so much and others didn't. Consider it a victory tax.

If I had a "couldn't care less" list, her fighting career would be on it, but I don't care enough to have such a list. I'm thinking she'll have plenty of time to campaign for Bernie Sanders now, though.

Ronda Rousey has six long months to contemplate her future in the UFC, but one fighter thinks her decision’s already been made.

“I think it’s really hard for her to return to fighting. … Her career has taken a different direction,” current UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo told reporters in Brazil, via MMAFighting.com. “If I’m making a lot of money doing movies or something else, I’d go that direction, too.”

“Am I going to mess my face up getting punched in the face? You’re crazy,” he continues.

Rousey, who was viciously knocked out by Holly Holm in the second round of UFC 193 in Australia on Saturday, has become something of a tabloid staple with her budding film career.

“In my opinion, I don’t think [she fights again]. If she comes back, of course she can [win the title],” Aldo insists. “She was always a fighter, but if I were her, I wouldn’t come back.”

While Rousey has strayed from the spotlight since the shocking upset, apart from a brief, pathetic sighting at LAX on Monday, the 28-year-old vows her return to the ring will come in time. ...

"It appears the beating Ronda Rousey received from Holly Holm during her title defense in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday was more severe than previously thought because the UFC has now placed her on a six-month medical suspension. According to a report from Fox Sports, the suspension is mostly due to concerns that Rousey might have a possible head injury. MixedMartialArts.com was the first to release the news that the former bantamweight champion was suspended from the sport for 180 days as a precautionary measure due to the vicious blows she received in losing the fight via knockout.

According to the New York Post, the medical suspensions are usually run by state athletic commissions that regulate fights. Although they are usually not made public, the UFC shared a full list of medical suspensions (for Rousey and other competitors) via MixedMartialArts.com. The six-month suspension is the most severe suspension imposed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for health reasons of fighters. However, Rousey could return to the octagon sooner than expected depending on the results of a CT Scan, which can more easily diagnose problems such as trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

The first 45 days of her suspension will be complete inactivity, which includes no training. According to the report, the medical suspension is 60 days without fighting and 45 days without any contact subject to the results of physical and neurological tests.
