The method is used for screening samples of water or soil taken from the environment so that a determination of the numbers and types of pathogens can be made. Researchers working at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) together with fellow scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), have come up with a new piece of technology designed to give an assessment of pathogens from environmental samples within 24 hours.
