Obama's attempt to disarm Americans

Barack Obama is really trying to “forcefully transform America” in every way he possibly can during his last few months as president. His days are running short, and he is realizing that the only way he can push through the rest of his radical agenda is by using his pen to sign more executive orders. There isn’t much in his transformation of this country that hasn’t been accomplished, except for that one pesky issue of gun control.

He has tried and tried to bring this issue up whenever the opportunity presented itself, and he never let “a good crisis go to waste” when it came to gun violence. From the very beginning of his presidency, he has let this issue simmer, keeping it in his crosshairs for some time in the future. Well, the future is now – and with uncharacteristic honesty, he flat-out told us last week that this issue “needs to be politicized” and he was going to do it. With shaking anger in his voice, he wasn’t grieving for the victims; he was pushing his gun agenda.

After the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, Obama, freshly re-elected to his second term, went full force into demolishing the Second Amendment. With his next four years securely in place he signed executive orders calling for mandatory criminal background checks on gun buyers and other measures that were unpopular with Congress and the American people, including a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. All in all, after that incident in Newtown, Connecticut, he issued 23 executive actions involving gun control.

Prior to his re-election, the NRA warned Americans that Obama would make targeting the Second Amendment his main priority if he won a second term:

“If Barack Obama wins a second term in office, our Second Amendment freedom will not survive. Obama will never have to face the voters again, and will therefore be unleashed to push the most extreme elements of his gun-ban agenda to every corner of America.”

Now with the recent shootings at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, Obama has once again declared open season on the Second Amendment, and his blatant politicizing of the tragedy even before the victims were identified has angered and enraged not only the community affected, but the entire gun-owning population of this country.

His obvious political trip to “visit and console” the families was just an opportunity for him to further his gun-control message and subliminally convince the public that it is the “gun that is the problem.” The reaction to his Oregon visit, however, was less than welcoming, and he was met with many protesters who waved signs telling him that his presence was not appreciated. Many in Roseburg were disgusted and appalled that he would take advantage of their community and grieving families to make a political statement.

The harder Barack Obama and the leftists push the gun issue, the more resistance they will get. The people of this country understand that most of the gun laws enacted by government do not even apply to criminals or people with a serious mental disorder. You can do all the background checks you want, but a criminal or a sick person hell-bent on killing someone will kill if they want to kill – using a knife, bomb or even a vehicle. The good law-abiding citizens are the ones being harnessed by gun laws, not the criminal. Not one gun law on the books could have prevented the massacre at Sandy Hook or this recent shooting in Oregon, for example.

If Obama takes his final months in office pushing through executive orders restricting the American people and their right to bear arms, he could be playing with fire. The more he bans ammunition and makes noise about limiting magazines, the more people will flock to their gun shows and stores to stock up. He is actually creating a booming market for gun dealers and manufacturers just by provoking the American people. The more he tells people that he will infringe on their rights the angrier they will get. As of 2012, there were about 347 million guns in the United States, so it will take a bucketful of executive orders to confiscate all of them. That is the ultimate goal, of course, to relieve the “good” citizens of their guns and their method of self-defense. It is another step toward our loss of freedom and complete government control. After all, what can you do if you are defenseless?

The ultimate goal of the left and the gun-control lobby is to disarm the American people so that they will not encounter any resistance to their agenda. Do you notice how they barely say a word when someone like Kate Steinle is killed by a criminal illegal with a gun, but they exploit the situation when some mentally unstable person uses one? They pick and choose their tragedies for whatever will benefit them politically.

If I were Obama or Hillary Clinton or any of the hard-core “gun-grabbers” out there, I would not underestimate the people and their “right to bear arms.” That will be one of the last things Americans will give up. They have tried to harness our speech with political correctness, and they are attempting to take away our other freedoms as well, but they will face a maelstrom if they try to disarm us.

Well, Obama may use his pen on trying to disarm America.  I for one, will not comply.  He cannot just "amend" the Constitution with the use of his pen. Under the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution we have the right to bear arms.  There area also provision in the Constitution to amend the Constitution. A constitutional amendment requires two-thirds of both houses of Congress to approve it and three-quarters of the state legislatures to ratify it.  Also ...what can be done by executive orders can also be undone by executive orders.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
