The Hussain family claim they were driven from their Bradford home after converting religion.

Nissar and Kubra say they and their children have been subjected to a campaign of hate because of their new faith.

Mr Hussain, 49, had to give up his career in nursing because the stress of the ordeal wreaked havoc on his health.

Members of the family, who converted to Christianity in 1996, have been attacked in the street, had their car windows smashed and their property pelted with eggs by neighbours who see them as ‘blasphemers’.

Although they’ve called the police several times, only one successful prosecution has been made and authorities seem hesitant to pursue the offences as hate crimes.

This has left Mr Hussain feeling so let down that he’s lodged a complaint with the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

‘Our lives have been sabotaged and this shouldn’t happen in the United Kingdom.

‘We live in a free democratic society and what they are doing to us is abhorrent,’ Mr Hussein told the Mail Online.
