Jindal on Boehner Resignation: 'Mitch McConnell, It Is Now Your Turn'
(CNSNews.com) – Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) called for the resignation of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday at the Values Voter Summit [1], in response to House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) n announcement earlier that day that he is stepping down.
“I said that’s good-- that’s one down, that’s 434 more to go,” Jindal told the crowd, to loud applause.
“Folks, it is time to fire everybody in D.C. and the reason I’m saying that is, right now, we’ve got a choice between honest socialists on one side and lying conservatives on the other,” he said.
“Here’s what I say in response to Speaker Boehner stepping down: Mitch McConnell, it is now your turn," Jindal said.
“If Sen. McConnell is not willing to fight for our conservative principles, he needs to follow John Boehner’s example,” said the Louisiana governor.
“You got a bunch of Republicans that don’t even do the things they say they were going to do,” Jindal emphasized.
The Values Voter Summit [1] is sponsored by FRC Action, the legislative arm of the Family Research Council. The summit was created in 2006 as a “forum to help inform and mobilize citizens across America to preserve the bedrock values of traditional marriage, religious liberty, sanctity of life and limited government that make our nation strong.”
