At least 30 people have been killed and 26 others injured in an attack on an air force base in Pakistan.
The assault happened when a group of 13 militants tried to storm the Badaber Air Force station in Peshawar, according to a military spokesman.
Troop reinforcements arrive to help protect the base
The fighters split into two groups and attacked the base from two sides.
One attack on the guard room was stopped by security forces but the other group then entered the mosque's base, killing 16 people who were praying.
An army captain was among those who died.
A state of emergency has been declared and the injured have been taken to two hospitals where security has been tightened to prevent attacks on the hospitals.
The Tehreek-i-Pakistan (Pakistani Taliban) says it carried out the attack.
Pakistan's military chief of staff has been to the base and is meeting the injured.
Pakistan has been battling the Pakistani Taliban and its foreign allies since a peace agreement failed and the Taliban launched an attack on Karachi International Airport.
