Illegal immigrants caught driving on British roads face up to six months in prison under new powers unveiled by the Government.

A new offence of driving while unlawfully in the UK would be created under the Immigration Bill.

Those convicted could also be slapped with an unlimited fine and have their cars seized by the authorities.

Immigration enforcement officers would also have the power to seize driving licences of suspected illegal immigrants.

The crackdown form part of a series of measures in the proposed legislation aimed at cutting the number of "pull factors", that attract people come to Britain illegally.

Of course, the instant they are arrested, they'll claim asylum. That gives them an extra two years here - but at least we'll know where the hell they are!
