Quote
In my post yesterday about the #NROrevolt Twitter rebellion by restrictionist Donald Trump fans against the pro-restrictionism National Review, I mentioned that there was a rich stream of apoplectically anti-Donald Trump commentary emanating from within the conservative media. I thought it might be useful to catalogue some of the vituperative and often entertaining arguments thus far into one place. (For a previous post on Trump's conservative-media supporters, click here.)

The following list, encompassing neoconservatives, social cons, and libertarian-leaners, includes Bret Stephens, George Will, Glenn Beck, Michael Gerson, Charles C.W. Cooke, Karl Rove, Jonah Goldberg, John Podhoretz, Kevin D. Williamson, Mona Charen, Noah Rothman, Jennifer Rubin, and Max Boot. Those with multiple entries have theirs presented in chronological order. Please leave other suggestions in the comments. Without further ado: ...

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

The people who depend upon the status quo are fighting it's demise.  Perhaps it's time for the people in the provinces to take heed.

You Trumpians are funny.

You act as if Trump is anti-establishment.  Yet, he supports abortion, Planned Parenthood, raising taxes, and kicking out hard-working Mexicans so he can replace them with Islamist "refugees."

And he's kinda keen on universal health care, too.

So much for fighting the "status quo."

Just some balance for those who might be interested in reading about what Trump actually does, rather than the distractions thrown around by the republican status quo:

During the 2014 political cycle, Mr. Trump was a top contributor and fundraiser for Republican efforts. Mr. Trump also campaigned across the country, with each candidate winning by a record margin.

Mr. Trump has over 7 million followers on social media. He frequently uses this platform to advocate for Conservative causes, Republican candidates and to educate the public on the failures of the Obama administration. Mr. Trump appears on Fox and Friends on Monday mornings and devotes much of his time to media interviews in order to promote a Free Market, the importance of a strong family, a culture of Life, a strong military and our country’s sacred obligation to take care of our veterans and their families.

Mr. Trump has long been a devoted supporter of veteran causes. In 1995, the fiftieth anniversary of World War II, only 100 spectators watched New York City’s Veteran Day Parade. It was an insult to all veterans. Approached by Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the chief of New York City’s FBI office, Mr. Trump agreed to lead as Grand Marshall a second parade later that year. Mr. Trump made a $1 million matching donation to finance the Nation’s Day Parade. On Saturday, November 11th, over 1.4 million watched as Mr. Trump marched down Fifth Avenue with more than 25,000 veterans, some dressed in their vintage uniforms. A month later, Mr. Trump was honored in the Pentagon during a lunch with the Secretary of Defense and the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff.

For those who don't know, Trump attended five years at the New York Military Academy instead of a public high school in Brooklyn. His love of the military and veterans is real.

Great. He supports the military.

And Planned Parenthood, and abortion, and higher taxes, and universal health care, and replacing illegals with Islamist "refugees."

Sorry.  The scale is not balanced by his love of veterans.

You realize that the status quo includes social security and medicare, right?

The Constitution is status quo, too.

And just what was Donald Trump doing as a guest speaker at CPAC 2014? Promoting abortion?

I wasn't always pro-life...

Trump was ardently pro-choice just six years ago. Why should I believe he's suddenly pro-life?

And he's pro universal healthcare, pro raising taxes, and defends Planned Parenthood (which does abortions as its prime source of revenue, apart from taxpayers).

You're being suckered, aligncare.

/snicker

Where do you think Trump goes to get his projects okayed?  Where do you think he goes when he needs some holdout's property seized by eminent domain and handed over to him in the name of "urban renewal" or somesuch?

Trump is the insider's insider.
