Negative energy ALWAYS garners more support than positive energy.

Trashing, attacking, ranting, these will always get a segment of the population riled and to your side. That's what Trump is  doing. He despises Mexicans, the Chinese, hedge fund managers, his opponents, and the list continues to grow.

With a due respect Sinkspur, and my respect for you is yuge, Reagan, Clinton, and Obama talked about hope.  Even Trump's slogan is making "America Great Again."

The GOP needs a better liar than Trump.  We need someone to talk about what is right with America, and how we can make it better.  Talking about people suffering is OK, as long as they promise to make it better.

Trump's immigration bullet points prove the proposals don't have to work well, or at all...but they need to be proposed.

I don't disagree that Trump has consolidated the racists, malcontents, and easily distracted...but the counter to Trump must be positive energy.

...as and aside comment, I don't say it enough, but I'm enjoying your posts immensely.  Few people get more insults, too often never even commented on by other posters, than you do.  (I'm guilty of it too, 'cause I know you can handle an argument, and like me, you almost prefer to let your opponent make a fool of himself)  I really appreciate you spending your time and thoughts with us.

Strong field?  It's also rans and past their primes.  Carly Fiorino?  She couldn't manage a GAP store.  Jeb Bush?  Every time he picks his nose he gives himself brain damage.  Pataki?  Graham?  Santorum?  That's a "deep bench". 
The GOP has nothing and that's what it deserves.  There isn't a new idea among the group.  There isn't a set of balls between them.
Do you really believe Trump is going away?  Tell yourself that.  He will walk away as an independent and will win, as an Indendent.

We have not had such a good set of choices for a very, VERY long time.

We have serious people with serious ideas out there.

You are absolutely right.  Trump will gain nothing by talking directly to the viewers of Fox News.  Much of the Fox audience is too well informed at this point.  Trump needs to replace the GOP voters who are now nearly sober with rat voters...expect more call-ins to CNN and MSNBC.
