Al Qaeda Chief of Suicide and Explosive Ops Killed in American Airstrike

Senior al Qaeda member Abu Khalil al-Sudani was killed in an American air strike in Afghanistan on July 11, the Pentagon said Friday in a statement.
“We have confirmed that Abu Khalil al-Sudani, a high-ranking al Qaeda operational commander, was killed by a U.S. airstrike in Bermal district, Paktika province, Afghanistan on July 11, 2015.”
Al-Sudani, a senior Shura member and head of al Qaeda suicide and explosive operations, is directly linked to external attack plotting against the United States. He also directed operations against Coalition, Afghan, and Pakistani forces, and maintained a close association with Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s leader.
“Al-Sudani was one of three known violent extremists killed in the strike. The death of al-Sudani will further degrade al-Qaeda operations across the globe.”
