Scott Walker ‘Absolutely’ Supports The First Amendment Defense Act

Here’s some good news for those of us who love freedom.

GOP Presidential candidate Scott Walker was asked by a reporter for The Daily Signal if he supports the First Amendment Defense Act and replied in no uncertain terms that he “absolutely” supports it.

The First Amendment Defense Act has been introduced in Congress by Sen. Mike Lee, conservative hero. It would protect religious organizations from losing their tax exempt status because they happen to cling to idea of traditional marriage. If this bill doesn’t become law, then some of those groups might lose their tax-exempt status in the wake of the Supreme Court’s historic ruling legalizing gay marriage in all 50 states.

“To me, protecting our constitutional rights shouldn’t just take a piece of legislation,” Walker said. “That’s something the president and elected members of the House and Senate, by the oath we take… the oath any federal officer takes is about upholding the Constitution and the Constitution is very clear about protecting those rights.”
