Normally I have no use for progressives. But in this case, I'm glad they mobilized against TAA. Without them, Obama and the international corporatists in the GOP would have moved us closer to being subject to the authority of an international commission. IOW, another blow to American sovereignty.

Sal, if the unions weren't putting pressure on the Democrat leadership, it would have been Obamacare redux.
With union membership supposedly bleeding like a sieve, they had to make the appearance of fighting for them...the American "worker" (I hate that Socialist word). When in probable reality, they were being set up to see foreigners with HB1 visas replace them. At a cheaper hourly rate sans current benefit packages.
We all know here in the forum that it's the fine print buried on page 689, (800 pages total) that allows Obama to skirt Congress on Immigration.
We got thru seven years so far with these usurpers. I say, we wait until the next POTUS is sworn in before we pass anything.
And that's what I was thinking the "do nothing" GOP Senate was doing....riding that 'flat tire' on the rim until then.
