Donald Trump has joined the top-tier of presidential contenders, ranking alongside Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul in New Hampshire, a new poll of Republican primary voters there reveals.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush took the top spot.

"The race in New Hampshire and in other states has become between Bush and Not-Bush," said Doug Kaplan, the managing partner of Florida-based Gravis Insights, which conducted the poll for the Howie Carr radio show.

Of nearly 500 voters surveyed, 21 percent said they will vote for Bush, while Walker, Paul and Trump rounded out the top tier of candidates.

Thirteen percent of respondents favored Walker and Paul, while 12 percent favored for Trump. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio took 9 percent in the survey.

"Walker is the strongest of the Not-Bush, but he is competing against nine or 10 or more other candidates," Kaplan said.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz were each favored by under 5 percent of the total respondents.

Among voters from households with firearms, Bush leads with 22 percent support, followed by Trump, 13 percent; Walker, 12 percent; Paul, 11 percent; and Rubio, 9 percent.

Among voters who identify as pro-life, Bush again leads with 18 percent and Walker is their second choice.  Paul had 10 percent support, and Huckabee and Carson tied at 9 percent.

In response to the poll, Trump told Newsmax: "I have great respect for the people of New Hampshire — people who work hard and love this country.

"If I run, and if I win, the people of New Hampshire will be very proud — we will Make America Great Again!"

The Gravis poll was conducted June 2-3, and has a margin of error of 4 percent.

Putting Trump in the top tier disqualifies New Hampshire as a state with serious GOP voters.

You can learn a lot about a poll by who commissions it.

In this case, it was Howie Carr, talk radio host. Seems like he needed some grist for his show.

Why not the more accurate and descriptive headline:  "Bush clearly leading in NH?"

Why? Because Trump and his orange birds' nest of a hairdo, is "interesting."

Trump is in 4th place, in this poll.
