Muslim arrested for vandalizing Catholic church

A hate crime case is being investigated in Mississauga, Ontario, after “Jewsus” and “There is no Jew God” was spray-painted on the side of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, according to a report in Catholic Register.
Commentator Pam Geller, under the headline “Muslim arrested for vandalizing, desecrating Mississauga Catholic church, said, “The more we cave to the most brutal and extreme ideology on the face of the earth, the more brazen and violent they will become.”
The Register reported Iqbal Hessan, 22, was charged for “alleged hate crimes” at the church on several occasions in recent months. The latest incident happened May 26, when police said a statue in front of the church was covered in black paint and broken, and the slogans were painted on the side of the building.
Hessan faces five counts of mischief over $5,000 and other counts, the report said.

While the archdiocese of Toronto reminded parishes to incorporate safety precautions, the Mississauga community itself has taken to action.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a mosque. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Catholic church… It doesn’t matter anything. This is somebody else’s faith and we shouldn’t destroy it because it’s not right,” Michelle Medeiros, who has publicized the vandalism online, told the Register.
Surveillance footage from the church also showed a young man breaking in and ripping pages of the Sacramentary book on the altar and throwing them, then stealing electronic equipment. Also, a drawing of a hand gesturing with the middle figure was found spray painted on the steps of the church.
“A lot of angry people are pointing fingers right now,” Medeiros told the Register. “Some people are very, very upset because it is their church … they just want for whoever it is to get caught.”
The Catholic church membership also has been given support from several local groups, including the Mississauga/Toronto/GTA Pakistanis Against Terrorism and a spokesman from B’nai Brith Canada.
Geller has been a lightning rod over the issue of Muslim influence in America recently after she held a “Draw Muhammad” event in Texas that attracted two jihadis who apparently tried to shoot their way into the event, but were killed by an officer.
Subsequently, ISIS terrorists called for Geller’s “slaughter.
The terror group also claimed in a message on JustPasteIt to have 71 trained radicals in 15 different states, all ready to engage and fight.
The message: “[We have] 71 trained soldiers in 15 different states ready at our word to attack. … The attack by the Islamic State in America is only the beginning of our efforts to establish a willyah in the heart of our enemy.”
