Turkish jets shoot down Syrian aircraft: news reports

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish military jets on Saturday shot down a Syrian aircraft that had violated Turkey's airspace, television channels reported.

It was not immediately clear what kind of aircraft it was.

It subsequently crashed into Syrian territory, NTV news channel reported.
