The NFL suspended Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady for the first four games on Monday for his role in a scheme to deflate footballs used in the AFC title game. The league also fined the Patriots $1 million and took away two draft picks, including next years' first-round choice.

The NFL also indefinitely suspended the two equipment staffers who carried out the plan, including one who called himself "The Deflator."

The league cited the integrity of the game in handing down the punishment five days after a report said Brady "was at least generally aware" of plans by two Patriots employees to prepare the balls to his liking, below the league-mandated minimum of 12.5 pounds per square inch.

So let me get this straight. Brady, the guy that pushes the other two guys to deflate footballs is benched for four games. But the guys who deflated the footballs at Brady's direction are suspended indefinitely. Kind of like the Nuremberg Trials, where they sentenced Sauckel to death for impressing slave labor, but gave Speer, the guy who gave Saukel the slave quotas 20 years. How did the old radio commercial put it? "Money Talks, and nobody walks"...

Shall we take bets on how much this punishment will be reduced after Brady's appeal? I just hope he's still suspended for the first game ... against my Steelers!

The Patriots announced this morning that Dom Grady, will be replacing suspended QB Tom Brady for the first four games of the upcoming season.
